Baby Teeth is the eighth episode of the the first season of Snowfall. It is the eighth episode overall.
Outline
Franklin’s business ramps up, causing a rift in his inexperienced crew. Teddy pulls out all the stops to protect Alejandro. While visiting her dying father, Lucia has a realization.
Summary[]
Franklin[]
Franklin, Leon, and Kevin are at Franklin's house cutting up the crack and bagging up the product. Leon then asks Franklin if they can get 'some bitches' to cut up the crack. Franklin states to he already did , referring to both Kevin and Leon. Both of them weren't amused. Then Franklin tells them they aren't selling the rock, they are giving it away. Leon and Kevin were shocked and demanded to know why they're just giving the crack away. Franklin tells the guys that no one in LA knows what they are distributing and would like to create a market for the crack. Kevin then asks Franklin if he would like to sample the new product. Franklin gives permission, but only if Kevin doesn't develop an addiction to the crack. Kevin takes a rock and lights up the crack pipe and he suddenly gets high real quick. Franklin and Leon sees the effects of the rock from Kevin who is now officially high. Leon decides he doesn't want to try the product and Franklin states they are going to make bank.
Teddy[]
Teddy and Victoria are at a diner with coffee in their hands waiting for someone. Apparently this contact Victoria is searching for is late and Teddy asks Victoria if there is a was of contacting him. Victoria only know of him as Jim Stewart. Teddy only recognizes that name from television and begins making Jim Stewart impersonations which Victoria finds amusing, even though she states she is a Cary Grant fan. Since their supposed contact is late, Teddy asks Victoria if they just want to leave since this person was a no-show. In her impatience, Victoria decides to leave, however, her contact appears and compliments Victoria on the resemblance between her and Kristen. Stewart tells Teddy and Victoria how he was partying with her and Jess at one time at a nightclub and suggested his mind being kind of fuzzy and suggested a few thousand to extend his tourist visa would jog his memory. Both Teddy and Victoria found Stewart to be unbelievable since he is penny pinching them for information. Teddy slams down some cash and states to Jim how he has more in the car for emergencies. Victoria and Jim follow Ted out to his vehicle and shows Jim the trunk, but instead, he slams Jim's head into the trunk with his arm locked behind his back, he refers to him as a 'Special Kind of Piece of Shit' and demands Jim to give him and Victoria the name of the club he met the women at otherwise Jim will lose his arm. Jim caves and tells them Club Glitter.
Gustavo[]
Gustavo and Lucia arrive at the villa with Ramiro and Pedro awaiting them. Ramiro, of course, compliments Gustavo's brand new boots. Lucia then states she them for Gustavo since his old boots had holes in them. Ramiro then tells Lucia that her father was in the study asking for her. Ramiro then walks away as well as Pedro who is none to happy with what's going on with Oso and his cousin. Lucia tells Gustavo to wait for her as she enters the home.
Teddy[]
Teddy is back at his apartment looking at his suit and gets a knock on his door. He peeps through the hole and opens his door to find Alejandro, smoking a cigarette, dropping it on the floor mat, and entering the place. Alejandro then informs Teddy the contra camp in Nicaragua was hit. Teddy was shocked and asked about Elena, but Alejandro, in his frustration and fear, can't give an answer. When Teddy asked about the coke, Alejandro only became more frustrated stating he could care less about the coke. Teddy then tells Alejandro he'll see if he can scrap up some intel, but Alejandro states instead they both are flying to Nicaragua. Teddy then asks about Club Glitter and Alejandro became speechless. Teddy then advises Alejandro to head to Nicaragua himself while he works to curtail Victoria on her hunt to find Kristen. Alejandro agrees and leaves.
Leon[]
Leon and Kevin are in the Projects where some guys are playing basketball. Kevin is just speaking about some random things with Leon and some lady approaches them asking if they giving away some new drug. Kevin pulls her aside, hands her a baggie, and tells her to spread the word. Then another customer asks Leon for a couple, but Leon states everyone gets one. The junkie becomes adamant and demands more, but Leon states he's only getting one free one. The junkie reluctantly agrees and Kevin hooks him up. While Leon is dealing with potential customers, the junkie attempts to steal the entire bag from Kevin but Kevin manages to get ahold of the thief. Leon then approaches the junkie and knocks him to the ground. Both Leon and Kevin begin kicking and pounding on top of the junkie even though the thief keeps grabbing their legs and Kevin's new shoes.
Lucia[]
Lucia is in the house with Mauricio, who is now on dialysis sharing a cigarette. Lucia tells her father they need to talk and Mauricio reminisces about a time during her childhood and spoke about the cemitas they enjoyed. Mauricio then informs Lucia that what is happening to him is a part of life and gives her some heavy advice knowing his time is running short. Lucia grabs Mauricio's hand and immediately breaks into tears.
Gustavo[]
Teddy and Victoria are now at Club Glitter to see people dancing while the strippers are working. Victoria suggests he takes the bar while she takes the floor. He reluctantly agrees and while they are showing the photos and missing persons ad around, they come up empty-handed. Even some of the staff couldn't help them. Teddy sees Victoria now back to square one and asks if she wants to leaves, Victoria, instead tells Teddy she wants to 'Get Shitfaced and Dance'. Teddy is resistant of the idea, however, Victoria insists and orders some tequila. Teddy then decides to go along with it a takes a shot with her.
Louie[]
Franklin is at Jerome and Louie's place and presents them the crack. He them suggests to his Auntie and Uncle they don't have to go beyond South Central and can sell it in their community for a higher price than what they've made with the reefer. When Louie asks how much he was selling it for, Franklin tells them it will be $50 selling nickels, but wants to market it and go big, making a kilo of coke ten times it's value. Franklin then offers his Auntie and Uncle a taste, but Louie refuses the offer. Franklin assures them both the crack will catch on. Jerome takes his proposal into consideration and agrees to give the stuff away. Franklin is satisfied by Jerome's answer. They shake on it and Franklin departs. As Jerome approaches the product, Louie tells Jerome that their nephew will go through with it with or without them. Jerome, bagging up the baggies, states they are having a good life and starts to believe for Louie it ain't enough. Louie then brings up growing up in Baton Rouge with no television but a big radio that had a record player that would transmit stations from as far as Chicago and how she would hear live bands. She talked about how she imagined between in that big room listening to such bands with men in their tuxedos and women in their evening gowns and how she dreams of making that a reality. Though Jerome is hesitant of the change, Louie points out seven figures a month could change things for them. Jerome agrees right then and there with her. Louie then jumps on Jerome and kisses him.
Gustavo[]
As Ramiro and Pedro return with their horses, they see Gustavo near the stables. Ramiro hands Pedro the reins of his horse and sends him away asked Gustavo if he's ever been riding at night. Gustavo tells him he never rode a horse before. Ramiro found that answer unbelievable and asked about his parents. Gustavo tells Ramiro they were both killed when he was a kid. Ramiro then asked if he had any other siblings. Gustavo told him he was alone. Ramiro leaves him be while Gustavo just stares at the horse in the stable.
Teddy[]
Teddy and Victoria are now drunk and dancing to the music. There is a waitress who attempts to reach out to both Teddy and Victoria as they are partying. The waitress pulls the duo aside and tells them she knows Kristen and how she invited her to the club at her trapeze class. She brought up how Kristen had to blow off some steam because of some guy named Nathan. The waitress also pointed out how she left the club with a couple of guys, giving them the same description as Alejandro and Logan. When asked for a possible address, the waitress stumbled across it and handed it to Victoria. Ted asks Victoria to wait by the car and lies about need to use the restroom. As she heads to the front, he gets on the payphone and makes a quick emergency call. Teddy then notices Victoria at the front looking for him. He then pays for a bunch of drinks a waitress was carrying on a platter and gulps them down. He then takes an ash tray and ingests nicotine. Teddy then has the urge to throw up so he approaches a couple and projectiles vomit in their directions. The woman is hit with the puke and the boys snaps as he grabs Teddy, tosses him to the ground, and starts beating the crap out of him. Victoria sees it happening as the bouncers pull the boyfriend off of Teddy. She gets over to Teddy to check on him and they leave.
Lucia[]
Lucia sees Ramiro in the garden trimming some of the plants. He reminds her it used to be a patio where she used to play as a child until Mauricio decided to convert it into a garden. Lucia grabs an extra pair of shears and starts trimming some plants along with him. Ramiro states the garden brings Mauricio peace. He also brings up to Lucia about how to move forward in the cartel business. Lucia is puzzled by what he meant by that. Ramiro then brings up how she needed to make some changes on her end. Lucia then realized Pedro came clean to his father about their operations and Ramiro states it was true. Later, Lucia approached Gustavo and told him it was time for him to move out of the stash house now that he has his own cash and needs to find a new place. Gustavo agrees to that. He then turns around and sees Ramiro waving them off as they leave.
Teddy[]
Teddy and Victoria arrive at his apartment and Teddy point Victoria to the restroom who has a desperate urge to go. She rushes into the restroom as Teddy quickly grabs anything in the open that could blow his cover and op and hides them in the oven and grabs a pack of vegetables to place on his bruised face. Victoria exits the bathroom in relief and hands Teddy a first aid kit. She then enters the kitchen and fixes a glass of water for herself. As Teddy opens the first aid kit, Victoria notices a family photo of Teddy, Julia, and Paul. Victoria asked if that was his nephew. Teddy tells her no. She then asked if he was married. He lies and says they're separated. When she asked how long, Teddy stuffed a gauze up his nose and asked if she didn't bring it up to him. Victoria then informs Teddy she will take off and check out that house. Teddy then states it's past midnight and she doesn't care as long as she can find her sister. Teddy then states he'll come with her despite the beatdown he received. He then tells her they're in this together and runs into the bedroom for a change of clothes.
Franklin[]
Franklin arrives in the Projects to meet up with Leon and Kevin waiting for him. Leon even shows the blood on his shoes after some hobo tried to jack their product. Franklin sees the guys are all right, but Leon suggests Franklin needs to get him some new shoes since the distribution was Franklin's idea. Leon then demanded some hazard pay since he and Kevin puts their necks on the line giving away the product. Franklin points out what happened to them is nothing compared to what he went through since he started this business, and then pulls out some money to throw into Leon's face. Leon loses his cool as he pointed out killing Karvel and continues to shout at him while Kevin collects the cash Franklin through at Leon. Franklin tells Leon step back and Leon takes it a step further. Franklin then shoves at Leon, who in returns takes a basketball, nails Franklin and grapples him on the basketball court. They start wrestling with each other while Kevin jumps in and attempts to break up the fight. Kevin manages to halt the fight as he is standing between Franklin and Leon keeping them distanced from each other. Leon is frustrated and decides he wants nothing to do with Franklin or his business. He grabs his stereo and walks out with Franklin and Kevin calling back for him.
Teddy[]
Teddy and Victoria arrive outside the estate Logan and Alejandro once lived at. Victoria attempts to use the comm box and there was no answer. She then yells out to see if anyone was home and even resorts to jumping over the gate. The outside lights are turned and a lady in a bathrobe appears and demands to know what she and Teddy are doing in front of her home. Victoria explains that she was looking for her sister and was informed she last came to her address for some kind of party and even shows the homeowner a photo of Kristen. The lady states she's never seen her and warned them to vacate the premises otherwise she'll call the cops. As Victoria walks off in frustration, Teddy then thanks her for pulling that off, indicating the lady was a CIA operative. He then returns to the car to hear Victoria crying at near the end of her rope. Teddy is pretty much right there to consort her.
Franklin[]
Franklin and Kevin arrive in the projects. Kevin asks Franklin if he heard from Leon, and Franklin's answer is no. Kevin assures Franklin that Leon will come around as usual. Franklin and Kevin then see a score of people that Kevin and Leon may have turned into customers and signaling them. Franklin then realizes the rock they distribution has become a hit and prepare to make a profit.
Lucia[]
Lucia is currently running the cook house with the ladies at work. Pedro enters the lab and she snaps at him and chastises for going to Ramiro, who also appeared in the cook house. Ramiro checks out the cook house to see how they are running. He then asked who else was there and even asked about Gustavo. Lucia tells Ramiro she doesn't know where Oso is at. Ramiro warned her never to bring up to Gustavo the discussion they had the night prior and asks her to follow her. As she does, Lucia stares at Pedro knowing he betrayed her and heads off.
Lenny[]
Lenny is once again staking out Franklin's house and sees Leon banging on the front door calling his name and wanting to clear the air. He loads a clip in his gun impatiently waiting on Franklin while Leon continues to bang upon the door but there is no answer.
Franklin[]
Franklin and Kevin have a successful day selling the crack. Franklin tells Kevin he is taking off to collect some more rock while Kevin is still hard at work selling to those with money and refusing those who have no cash or are just making excuses about the lack of money. Franklin returns back to his house and enters, unaware he just passed up Leon's stereo. He heads into the kitchen to fix himself a glass of water and drinks from it. He then moves the blinds of the kitchen windows and sees the clothes line damaged as well as Leon barely alive on the ground with a gunshot wound to his torso. Franklin rushes out of the house to help him as he is losing blood. He pulls off his shirt and presses it on Leon's gunshot wound. Franklin then rushes back inside to call 911 and get an ambulance. He then rushes back out to help Leon once more. A badly wounded Leon then tells Franklin to get the crack out of there. Franklin then rushes back into the house, collects all the crack, bags them up, and makes a decision to jump into Melody's bedroom at her house next door and hide it in her bedroom closet. He then returns back to Leon to apply more pressure to the wound as Leon is quickly fading and the sirens are blaring.
