Beau Buckley is a former detective in the LAPD first appearing in Season 5.
Biography[]
Not Much is explained about his past, But we do know that he was born in the South. His father was a baseball player in the negro leagues but gave up his career to raise him and his sisters. He was often teased as a kid due to his light skin complexion, As other kids called him "Redbone". Later in life he would have 2 daughters with his now ex-wife Sharon. The two would eventually migrate from the South to Los Angeles. Buckley joined the LAPD as a patrolman and was later promoted as a detective for the C.R.A.S.H unit.
Relationship with Louie[]
During the year time skip between seasons 4 and 5 Buckley met Louie. The two cut a deal, Louie would keep Buckley on her payroll in exchange for protection from the LAPD . Their relationship started to change after Buckley was pressured by his superiors to bring in a big arrest. Buckley asked Louie for help, by her giving up a drug dealer that she knows. Louie continued to push Buckley to the side, By distracting him with a girl named Chelle and some lines of cocaine. Growing impatient and tired of the bribes, Buckley decided to take matters into his own hands and raided the Projects that Leon operates, which resulted in Einstein getting put in the hospital. Later he was confronted by Louie claiming that he lacks trust in her. Buckley later pays her back by helping her and Jerome get out of a drive-by investigation. Louie later meets with him and offers to pay him 100 grand to assassinate Kane. After the attempt failed Buckley confronted Louie for not answering his calls and not paying him his money. Due to Kane still being alive Louie refused to pay him the money, but made him her official enforcer on her crew, knowing his time on the force was short-lived, let alone, he still had connections.
Being Suspended[]
Buckley involved other corrupt officers from the CRASH unit to kill Kane. One of the officers involved was his partner Perez. During the shootout with Kane and his crew, Perez was shot. Perez later died due to his injury. Buckley was brought in for questioning. When asked to take a drug test he initially refused and demanded his FOP rep, But he learned that if he didn't cooperate he would potentially face charges. He is then suspended for his actions and he spirals out of control. He is later released from the force and went to work for Louie.
The Enforcer[]
After losing his job, Buckley went to work for Louie as her personal Head of Security. When Franklin confronted her about drawing out Teddy, she refused as she claimed it was her time as the Queen. He was there at the parking garage to protect her after Franklin threatened her life. When Franklin raided Louie's and the garage, stealing their money and birds of cocaine, he and Jerome enlisted some former LAPD colleagues in taking down Black Diamond and Dallas, whom helped Franklin. This resulted in Jerome beating Black Diamond to death as a message to Franklin. When Louie was kidnapped by Kane, Jerome attempted to reach out to Beau to enlist him in the rescue but he was too high on Florida snow to respond. After Louie's house was raided by the DEA, she and Beau fled LA. Louie soon found out that Jerome attempted to reach out to Beau and lashed out at him for not participating in her rescue. She then stole his car and stranded him in Ojai.
Aftermath[]
After Louie cut ties with him, there was no indication as to what happened with Beau. He was no longer a cop nor was he an enforcer for a drug queen. It is unclear what happened to him afterwards.
