Drew “Manboy” Miller was the leader of the Compton Crips. He is an major character in Season 3 and the tertiary antagonist in Franklin's storyline in Season 4.
Biography[]
He was revealed to have gone to school with Franklin and Leon until he and his family moved to the East Side. He sends three of his men to scope out Franklin Saint business and when two of his men, Levon and Dejon, are killed, only Tyrell gets away and tells Manboy what happened. He goes to meet Franklin and the two make a deal, if they become business partners then Drew will give the getaway driver to them, and Franklin accepts the deal and the two become business partners, it is later revealed that the getaway driver gets killed by Leon. He, Franklin, and Leon do business together and Franklin mentions that he and Manboy had a food fight with some other kids at school and one of them mentions how a kid knocked out a lunch lady, the three leave but when Leon and Franklin are in the car Franklin reveals to Leon that Manboy was the kid that knocked out the lunch lady. He is seen doing business with Leon and Fatback but when Leon sees Wanda he gets angry and Bootsy taunts Leon and the two begin to fight but Manboy and Fatback stop the fight between the two, he and Louie do business and talk about Leon and how he needs to be in line during business but Louie tells Manboy that he has to kick Wanda out. He has Bootsy throw Wanda out but Wanda insults him and he puts his hands on her but Bootsy pulls him off. He, Leon, and Fatback meet up with OG Skully the leader of the Bloods and Manboy’s sister’s husband, they talk about becoming business partners with Skully but they see a hostage tied up in his bathroom and after Skully pistol-whips the guy nearly to death he becomes business partners with them. Franklin and Leon try to ask Bootsy where Wanda is but he doesn’t tell them where she is and Manboy stand up for him but when he finds out that Melody’s father Andre is a cop he asks Bootsy and he tells them, he, Leon, and Franklin go to Bo and Lamont’s house where they interrogate the two but when the two start taunting them, Manboy and Leon hold the two at gunpoint while Franklin gets a call saying that they found Melody. When Bootsy finds Leon and his men selling on his corner he confronts them and a fight breaks out when Bootsy punches Leon, it is soon revealed that after Bootsy punched Leon, Leon sucker punched Bootsy and he tells Manboy about what happens and he tells Bootsy that he will talk to Franklin and Leon. He has a meeting with Franklin and Leon about how Leon has been messing with his crew and trying to take his territory and he tries to renegotiate terms but Franklin declines his request and Franklin and Leon leave the meeting. He is revealed to be the leader of the Crips when he, Bootsy, and a couple of other guys shoot at Skully’s blood set. Franklin confronts Manboy and his crew asking why they shot up the bottoms, he claims that Skully came at them so he got them back and he says that if they come back at them then they will kill the rest of them. Bootsy says that Franklin is weaker and soft because he has a cane but Manboy tells Bootsy not to underestimate Franklin because he still has a brain and that’s problem enough. When Manboy finds out about Bootsy’s death he is upset and is planning to go kill Skully and his crew but Franklin says that he can help him with that by setting Skully up Manboy and his crew get ready to go to war with Skully and the Bloods. When Skully shoots out a light one of Manboy’s henchmen start shooting at Skully and his crew as Manboy and the rest of the Crips start shooting at them as well, Manboy grazes Skully by shooting him in the arm and he claims he is dead when Franklin asks him but he lies. Jerome and Louie meet up with Manboy to do business and Manboy tells Jerome that is was better when it was just the 3 of them doing business and that ever since Franklin got back things have been shaky. After the death of his niece, Tianna, he goes to ask Khadijah who killed his niece, and when he finds out that is was Leon he goes to confront Franklin about it and demands that Franklin gives Leon up just like he did when one of his men messed up. He goes to Skully‘s house and he apologizes for killing Skully’s men and the two are on good terms again. He meets up with Franklin and the two have a conversation and Franklin decides not to give up Leon, making it clear he doesn't give up his own people, and Manboy tells Franklin that he’s gonna go to war with him. Manboy visits Skully and Khadijah and Skully apologies for killing Bootsy, in which Skully repents. Khadijah puts a $5,000 price on Leon and Manboy meets up with Black Diamond and Dallas who say they killed Leon but when he sees that Leon is not in the trunk he points a gun at them and tells them to leave. He gets into an argument with Khadijah and says that they’re gonna take Franklin and Leon out his way. Tanosse calls Manboy and informs him that Franklin is going to take him to meet the plug but Manboy suspects that it is a setup so he goes to her house and almost kills her when he finds out that she set him up but she stabs him and as he is about to shoot her Franklin and Leon come in and stop him, Jerome and Peaches kill his henchmen outside including Dimehead and he insults all of them before Franklin offs him.
Legacy[]
Manboy was an ambitious gangster, and known to read people enough to know when he is being set up. Unlike Skully, he kept his cool and never went haywire. He always saw a business opportunity with the Family, and continued working with Franklin to make bank. Despite his feud with Skully, he was able to put their differences aside after his niece was killed in a hit meant for Skully. Though he was able to read through Tanosse and sense being set up, he wasn't smart enough to outsmart Franklin, which led to his demise.
