Jingle Bell Rock is the fourth episode of the the second season of Snowfall. It is the fourteenth episode overall.

With morale dropping, Franklin Saint takes steps in order to ensure his crew's loyalty.


Summary

Franklin
[]

At night, Franklin and Teddy meet for yet another exchange. Teddy then handed Franklin an envelop consisting of a card with an address and a forged North Dakota drivers license with Franklin's picture and the alias Jason Peters on it. Teddy also stated that on the business card, he needs to show up at the address indicated but not an hour early and wear something nice. As soon as Teddy was about to drive off, Franklin asked where he got the forged license. Teddy just stated he has to know who to ask and prepares to take off.


Cissy
[]

Cissy arrived at the hospital upon learning that Alton was placed in there courtesy of LA's finest. She sees him in a hospital bed and a young woman with him as she enters the room. The woman introduces herself as Nia, an advocate for the homeless and a social worker for Edgewood Shelter. She then explained to Cissy their the LAPD were clearing out the encampment so the city could make LA presentable for the 1984 Summer Olympics. She stated that Alton refused to cooperate and wound up being put on a stretcher. Nia makes it known to Cissy that she fears Alton will wind up getting drunk again should he go back on the streets, but Cissy states Alton would wind up on the bottle regardless of where he goes. Nia then implores Cissy that he needs a safe place to stay, and Cissy stares at Alton, knowing what kind of hell she went through keeping him sober and out of trouble.


Franklin
[]

Franklin returns back to the cook house with Jerome fast asleep, Louise and Leon cooking in the kitchen, and Rob bagging up the rocks. He approaches Kevin and apologizes for the other day. Kevin then states they do what they gotta do and takes off, showing he accepts the apology for the time being. Leon and Louie are getting restless and complaining about how they can't move the product fast enough let alone injuring themselves in the cook house and suggests getting additional cooks and more stoves, but Franklin states he doesn't want to risk the recipe getting out. Leon and Louie take a stand and walk out of the cook house. Franklin soon finds himself between a rock and a hard place. Rob then presents Franklin an envelop of cash and states it's from the kilo he sold in the Valley. Franklin then fronts 3 more kilos to Rob, who then states he knows people at a party that would buy them and prepares to take off. Franklin then tells Rob he needs him to help cut the kilos for the distribution. Rob then insisted Franklin would want him at the party he intends to sell the kilos at and departs leaving Franklin to cut the cocaine alone while Jerome is snoozing. The next day, Franklin is outside the Continental Business Bank in his vehicle trying to figure out how to put on a tie then exits the car and enters the bank with 2 duffel bags full of cash with Teddy awaiting. Teddy then decides to fix Franklin's tie and escorts him to the office. They meet the bank manager, Dareh, and discuss their transaction and business. Franklin then tells the manager whatever money he deposits or launders will go under his alias Jason Peters. He then compliments the Persian jade lion statuette on his desk and talked about how his mother once had one until he broke it. Dareh then offers it to Franklin as a token of their future together and even suggests giving it to his mother. They then discuss a plan on how he wants to disperse his assets. Franklin suggests investing in real estate. Dareh then suggests they create a corporation for him in his name overseas and states it would allow him to acquire his assets in the U.S. without any unwanted attention and the business would be set up on Jersey Island. Dareh then offers Franklin to take some time to think about it and walks away. Franklin tells Teddy he barely knows him and tells him that giving his money to some guy he doesn't know does not feel right. Teddy then stated to Franklin how he had something called control issues since he was a kid. He stated that he could not do this alone and that he empowers the people he works with. Teddy then tells Franklin he should decide how big he wants his business to be and how much control he wants in his line of work. Later at Jerome's place, Franklin tells his uncle they are short 5 grand from the trucks and suggests someone stole from him. Peaches then enters the house with two of their dealers who claimed some guys jumped them and stole the cash and rocks. Franklin gives the 2 guys hazard pay and sends them off. Jerome then insisted that since the Pico-Union incident, some of the guys feel he doesn't have their backs. Franklin then tells Peaches to call his guy because they'll need some help.


Teddy
[]

At home, Matt compliments the tree Teddy placed inside and gave him kudos for the light work. Matt then talked about heading home to spend Christmas with their father and suggested Teddy comes home to visit. Teddy doesn't seem to find it a good idea. Mat then suggested flying him back to Washington D.C. to spend it with Julia and Paul, however, Teddy states they're heading to Vermont to spend it with their family. When Matt suggested flying him up to Vermont, Teddy tells him her family is not fond of him, especially after the divorce. Matt was shocked to hear his brother is now single. While Matt tells Teddy his reasons for disliking the idea of marriage, Teddy finds an article in the newspaper about the ground breaking at the Prado Regional Park for the 1984 Summer Olympics. Teddy freaks out and tells Matt to wait an hour or two before leaving. Matt then asked Teddy what is wrong, but Teddy doesn't give an answer and leaves.


Jerome
[]

Louie returns and demands Jerome the combination to the safe in their home and states she is tired of having her cut of the profit being distributed to her like some allowance. Instead, Jerome asks what she needs rather than tell her the combination. That answer doesn't satisfy Louie as she walks off. Jerome then reminded her he took her in after she was tossed out on her ass. Louie then stated she wants what she earned. Jerome, instead, tells Louie to go lie down and get her head right. Louie then grabs her stuff and states she will go lie down... with someone else. The two of them then argue and Louise tells Jerome she's done. Jerome then asked Louie if Claudia could satisfy her the way he can, and Louie states she can do 10 fold and tells him off as she prepares to walk out the door. Jerome then waves her off without a care and she bolts.


Teddy
[]

Teddy arrives at a construction zone and asks one of the workers what they are doing and claims he's one of the homeowners from nearby complaining about the noise. The worker states they are breaking ground for a shooting competition for the Olympics and will be finished in 2 days. Teddy then asked if they will be at it all night. The worker states it won't be completely all night and returns back to work.


Franklin
[]

Franklin and Peaches arrive at an oil field to meet Peaches old platoon buddy, Kit. Franklin asked Peaches how his mother was and told him he learned of her being sick and in the hospital. Franklin then offers a loan to help Peaches. Kit arrives and they exit the vehicle. Franklin and Kit are introduced and then the arms dealer prepares to open his trunk while telling a story about why they call his friend 'Peaches'. Kit then shows the guys the guns in his car and tells them 'Merry Christmas Motherfuckers'.


Lucia
[]

Lucia is in her office putting a Christmas ornament on her tree and then the INS pull up to the warehouse. The workers inside freak out when INS agents surround the building and Soledad yells out to everyone not to say a word. Lucia pulls out the paperwork and states to the agents she has documents indicating they're legalized and hands it to the agent in charge. The head agent asks how the documents are real and states it ain't the first time he came across green cards. Soledad then goes off at the agent and speaks about having to deal with folks like him while living in a border town. He tells Soledad to shut up while reviewing the documents. While Lucia attempts to de-escalate the situation with the agent, Soledad further berates the agent to the point where he strikes her in the face. Some of the workers witness it as well as the INS agents saw it. Soledad then continues to press the agents buttons to where he starts to engage her but one of his guys stops him and Lucia demands them all to leave immediately. The INS disperses as Lucia noticed the busted lip Soledad received.


Teddy
[]

Teddy returns back to search for Matt and asks him to call their dad at let him know he's not gonna make it for Christmas. That did not sit well with Matt as Teddy states they don't have a whole lotta time to discuss anything and tells him to get some boots and a jacket.


Franklin
[]

While riding out to the oil field, Jerome told Franklin that Louise has called it quit and left, claiming she wanted more and was constantly complaining about the hours. They pull up to meet the entire crew and Leon, Kevin, and Peaches approached the vehicle to acquire the duffel bags full of weapons to distribute to the soldiers and dealers. Franklin then asks Jerome to take the lead and Jerome tells the gang that he and Peaches will show them how to use the weapons. He riles up the boys and takes them to another area to train them.


Gustavo
[]

Gustavo, Lucia, Pedro and Soledad are in the packing plant at night when it's closed toasting to a Merry Christmas and enjoying some drinks. Pedro then asked Lucia and Gustavo for Christmas off since he planned on taking Soledad with him to Big Sur and want to start their own traditions while making out. Lucia agrees to giving him Christmas off in order to stop seeing some intimacy between the two and they both take off. Gustavo then states to Lucia she has a weak spot for Pedro. Lucia doesn't deny it and asks Oso to come with her to see the gift she got for him.


Franklin
[]

The entire crew are at Claudia's nightclub enjoying themselves. Franklin and Leon are talking and they see Wanda enjoying herself. Franklin then asks Leon to bring her to the cook house and even asks Wanda in person to help with cooking the crack. She graciously agrees to the offer and she and Leon take off to go dancing. Franklin then approaches Kevin and asked how many women he's been getting it on with in the club, and suggests he tone it down a bit an put some cash away should things go at a stand still. Kevin then pointed out that money has been flowing which is why he took some from a truck to giving to his Aunt after what happened to Delroy. Now Franklin knows who skimmed the money from the truck and lashes out at Kevin for taking money without his approval. Kevin then states he was just helping his aunt out on Christmas since she lost her son. Franklin doesn't accept that excuse and reminds Kevin should they retaliate for Victor and Delroy, there would be a war in South Central and asked Kevin if that's what he wanted. Kevin then stated he wanted for the crew to not act like a bunch of cowards and wants to hit back. Franklin then makes Kevin a deal knowing he wouldn't less this mess go unanswered, indicating if he can find out who it was that offed his cousin and Victor, with legit information that could keep the Los Monarcas out of South Central, he would discuss payback with him. Kevin vaguely agreed to the deal and walks away. Franklin then finds his Auntie Louie and compliments her new dress. She stated Claudia got it for her. Franklin then talked to her about promising her she doesn't need to work in the cook house kitchen anymore, but Louise states it's not about that. Franklin reminded his aunt they started this business in the club together and tells her he can't do this without her. Louise then tells her nephew he'll have to try, refusing to return back to the fold, and wishes him a Merry Christmas and walks away to see Claudia.


Teddy
[]

At night in the park with the construction workers gone, Teddy and Matt are digging and as they reach what they were digging, Matt smells a stinch in the hole and recognizes it as the smell of a corpse. Matt then hopped out of the hole while Teddy was still digging away. Matt then asked how many bodies were buried there and who they are. Teddy then answered there were two of them, and now we know where Alejandro and Victoria were buried. Matt then learned the woman was killed by Alejandro and Teddy killed him for it and buried them there. Teddy then continued digging to almost finishing up and Matt hopped back to see that their body parts are stuffed in suitcases dug in the ground. During the drive home, Teddy tells Matt that he is the only person who knows about the burial site and if he wants out now he can leave because the position was only temporary.


Cissy
[]

Cissy enters Franklin's bedroom to check out Alton, who is lying in Franklin's bed awake, but not without injuries and a fuzzy memory. She tells him she brought him home from the hospital and laid him in there.


Lorena
[]

Soledad is jogging in the park where she meets Tony Marino and pets his new dog. He then asked how the INS did on the raid, and she pointed out the Agent in Charge assaulting her, which of course she would hope throw Lucia and Gustavo off of her suspicion, and tells Tony she'll go down hard. Tony tells Soledad to be careful, but calling her by her real name 'Lorena' and wished her a Merry Christmas and she continues her jog and he takes off. Now we know she is law enforcement, but what branch?


Epilogue
[]

Cissy finishes checking up on Alton. Teddy gets out of bed with the night before weighing heavily in his shoulder. Lucia presents Gustavo his new gift, a wrestling ring. Cissy finds the Persian jade lion statuette Franklin received from the bank in her home. Teddy sees Matt making breakfast, not heading anywhere else. Gustavo enjoys his new ring. Franklin is running the cook house alone.
