Karvel was a ruthless gangbanger of the HTB Western Tribe in Compton. He is the secondary antagonist for Franklin's storyline in Season 1.
Biography[]
He is known to use twisted methods on his victims. He runs with a rough crew known as the Western Tribe's HTB who Leon had connections with while he rolled with the Crips.
He is first seen going to Lenny’s house with Franklin Saint and Leon Simmons to recover the money Lenny and Ray-Ray stole from Franklin, during which he tortures, beats and eventually rapes Lenny until he gets answers about where the cash is, before taking Franklin’s cash for himself along with a box of cereal. Franklin and Leon later hunt Karvel down to his home, to learn that he used almost all of Avi's money to pimp out his ride and they find him black-out drunk.
Franklin and Leon kidnapped Karvel and took him to the Sonoran Desert (under Avi’s advice). Karvel almost escapes the car and is shot in the lower abdomen. He falls from a height and runs off. Karvel is tracked down by the pair, who follow a trail of his blood. Bleeding out, Karvel makes a vain attempt to beg for his life; Leon then shoots Karvel in the chest and subsequently the head, after Franklin failed to do so himself.
In the episode 'Other Lives', in an alternate timeline, he robs a gas station Franklins working at and begins losing his cool with Frank. As he finishes taking the money, he demands Franklin at gunpoint to repeat something demeaning only to be gunned down and killed by Sergeant Andre Wright.
Legacy[]
When it comes to gangbangers, Karvel was as sick, sadistic, violent, and volatile as they come. He was also known to screw over people who hired him for a job, Franklin for example and even the littlest thing was known to set him off. He found out the hard way that stealing from his employers had fatal consequences when he was dragged to the desert and killed. He would be remembered as the "King Thug Hunter"
