Biography[]
His affiliation was unknown at the beginning, however he is connected to a mysterious organization looking to eliminate Teddy McDonald with a promise to keep the Saints safe. It was discovered that he was born in Cuba to a Cuban mother and Russian father, but moved with his father to the Soviet Union after his mother passed away. He has connections in Cuba and works with KGB operatives. His primary cover was a plumber, but in truth, he answers to a man named Jacob, who answers to the Center. He has requested for Cissy to bug Franklin's place of business but she has refused to put her son on the radar. His father was originally a KGB officer from Russia which explained his connections to the USSR. When he captured and interrogated Avi and learned of a shipment heading to Costa Rica, he killed Avi. One thing he kept from the KGB is that fact that he is gay and had a relationship with a man named Edwin, but when Teddy learned of it, he feared it would destroy his reputation as a KGB officer or worse, knowing he wasn't exactly out of the closet. He then learned that the DEA, led by Tony Marino, was using Oso as a CI to catch Teddy and the CIA in the act of running drugs in the country. He later set his sights off of Franklin and focused on Gustavo in order to further the Centers objectives. Determined to expose Teddy at all costs, Rubén took Oso as a prisoner and just as he was forcing Oso to retrain Teddy, Oso fought back and knocked Rubén to the ground. He was later taken as a prisoner along with Teddy and held at Franklin's stash house. After Teddy was killed and Franklin failed to retrieve his fortune, Franklin traded Rubén over to Stephen Havemeyer and the CIA in exchange for immunity. Rubén was left to an unknown yet horrifying fate.
