Summary

Veronique
[]

Turner is on the phone at the WSD office and Franklin enters with some light beer in both hands, claiming he was looking for the fancy stuff she liked. She informed Franklin she was speaking with the representatives for the Downtown Property, finished her call, and broke the news that they have the property. Franklin then goes in for the kiss and Veronique then tells Franklin that all they need to do is collect the money and put it in an escrow account before weeks ends and Franklin states he'll get the funds from his Panama account as he opens up her beer and hands it over. Veronique then implies that it is not just their money they need to move.

Later they are at Louie's where they present the paperwork to Louie and Jerome. Veronique points inside the fine print is the same deal she and Franklin received and the difference would be the ownership stake. Franklin then told them to contact his bank in Panama and ask for one Rogelio Perez so their portion of the investment can be moved to the Cayman Islands account. He then lays a pen on the fine print and states they can get started once they sign it. Louise then moves the pen away and made it clear to Franklin that they never said yes to the investment, but to think on it. Franklin then stated he gave them plenty of time to think on it, he think returned the pen and told her the decision is now. Jerome then stated gushing out $10 million is no easy decision. Franklin then cuts the investment down to $5 million, hoping to appease them both and Veronique states they won't need all the money, but will only need 10 percent of the final amount should they go through with it. Franklin then urges Louie further, noting the expensive earrings she is wearing. Franklin then brought up the friction between them and urged them not to allow that to affect their business. They then break it to Franklin that it's not about the rift in the Family, but their future plans. Franklin then clarifies he was just wanting them to be apart of this project as he claimed he was just looking out for them. Louie then made it clear that his dreams he was fulfilling was in contrast to their own. Knowing Louie and Jerome wouldn't budge from their decision. Franklin grabbed the pen and left the office with Veronique.

Franklin expressed his frustration as he hit his fist against a wall and stormed out the front entrance. He then snapped about Jerome and Louie's pride standing in the way of progress. Veronique states it's fine if they want no part of the project and Franklin loses his cool about learning of the decision at that moment. He then reminds Veronique that without the investment, they are having to throw in all their chips in for this project. Veronique attempts to calm his nerves and has him take a deep breath, telling him the building will work out for them and she has contingencies situations like what they had. She then urges Franklin not to give up on his family right away. Franklin then points out that even if he goes back in, his words would only fall on Louie's deaf ears. Veronique then suggested that someone else should convince Louie as they enter the car.

Cissy
[]

Back at the Diner, Cissy and Rubén are holding another meeting as the waitress brings them coffee. Cissy tells Rubén that waitress remembered her, asking if she was there to see the "handsome man" again. Rubén is flattered as he claimed they are just 2 friends having coffee. Cissy then asked for the first step and Rubén reveals a ballpoint pen, places it near Cissy, and requests she place that in Franklin's office so they can carry on. Cissy is beside herself, saying she agreed to help them get Teddy, and nothing was said about bugging his son. Rubén states that Teddy is one man and the CIA will keep sending someone else. He states his only objective is not only to get Teddy out of the picture, but to protect the Saint's from the CIA, and learning everything they can about the business is phase one, naming what it is his organization would like to know. He then urged Cissy to speak her mind. Cissy stated she agreed to capturing and killing Teddy, but never agreed to spying on her son. Cissy then states that even though she is no intelligence officer, she knows that whatever agency Rubén works for has a bigger agenda than finding answers or getting revenge. Rubén states she may be right and was informed she wanted to move things quickly, but makes it obvious she hardly knows him and what he requests isn't a small thing. He then states he is willing to slow things down a bit. Cissy then stated how she won't make the kind of mistakes Alton made after his decision nearly destroyed her family. She clarifies she does want Teddy, but won't betray her only son to do so. Rubén makes it clear he understands and has no interest or intentions on hurting Franklin. He then states that without any intel on his business, he won't be able to help her. He then suggests she takes the pen, but doesn't need to put it in the office and it is up to her on what she does with it.

Franklin
[]

Franklin arrives at the meet point outside an abandoned grain elevator to do the exchange with Teddy and Gustavo. They hop out and Teddy points towards Franklin's driver. Franklin introduces them to Fetu, who is filling in for a sick and absent Peaches. Teddy then asks if Franklin has started offering sick days and Franklin states he needs to look after his people or they may do some without them noticing, all the while both Oso and Fetu are grabbing their respective duffel bags. Teddy then asked about the issue with Louise and Jerome. Franklin just called it a situation. A brown van pulls up and everyone realizes the men inside aren't friends. Everyone takes cover with their weapons in hand as the shooting starts. Fetu is immediately killed in the exchange of gunfire. Franklin and Oso are then returning fire. Teddy open fire as well and manages to kill the driver of the drive-by crew. The gang continues their barrage and Teddy takes a round to the right shoulder, he then jumps into his car and starts it up.

As the shooting continues, Franklin calls Oso over to him. Gustavo responds as Teddy flees the scene in his vehicle. As Oso moves to get in the car, he is grazed in the right arm and hops in the backseat. Franklin returns fire up as well as the attacking party. Franklin then jumps into the driver seat, all the while bullets are ricocheting onto his car. He hits in reverse and floors it into the van. The vehicle then spins as Franklin gears it to drive and flees down the road while his vehicle is smoking from the shootout. Franklin does what he can to distance himself from his attackers, and Gustavo, who is reeling from the bullet graze, warns Franklin his car will not make it, suggesting they get it off the road. Franklin agrees as he pulls up behind an abandoned shop next to a metal building. He shuts off the vehicle, hops out to check if the coast is clear, and checks on Oso, who hops out and claims the wound is worse than it looks. Oso then pulls his jacket off, pulls off his undershirt, rips his undershirt with Franklin's help, and has Franklin use his ripped undershirt as a gauze for the bleeding. Gustavo throws his jacket back on and Franklin opens the trunk to check the bags and discovers one of the bags was struck in the gunfire. Franklin pulls the bags out and informs Gustavo that they shouldn't on foot for too long since they will be carrying duffel bags with $3 million dollars in it. Franklin then pulls some loose change from the ashtray and warns Gustavo then must avoid the main streets and find a payphone. Gustavo then alerts Franklin of the graffiti discovered, indicating they are in gang territory. Franklin assumed the gang they may encounter aren't exactly friend to Oso, who then states that to be true as well as losing his gun in the gunfight. Franklin then checks his sidearm and discovers he has no bullets in it. Franklin and Gustavo then prepare to depart.

Teddy
[]

Teddy is driving down the road severely wounded from the firefight. He can barely hold his composure as he is on the verge of passing out. He then immediately takes a sharp turn in the alleyway and pulls his Swiss army knife out of the glove compartment. Teddy then hops out of the vehicle and pukes on the ground. Teddy then opens the trunk, zips open a bag and uses the knife to cut open a key of cocaine. He then takes a handful of yeyo and presses his hand onto his bullet wounded shoulder with the powder to relieve some tension. Teddy then takes his knife to scoop up some coke and snorts it. He then returns to the front seat of the vehicle, uses his left hand to start the ignition, knowing his right arm is out of commission and resumes the drive.

Franklin
[]

As they are continuing through gang turf, Franklin is washing off his hands at a water spicket and Gustavo asks who it was that attacked them. Franklin claims he had no idea who tried to drive-by them. Gustavo then asked if he recognized the van, and Franklin states folks who do drive-by don't use their personal cars. Gustavo tells Franklin he should know who his enemies are and Franklin states these days he is just passing up are dressed in Armani suits. Gustavo assumed Franklin was tailed to the meet and Franklin assumed the same for Oso, who then claimed it would not be easy to tail a CIA agent. Franklin then asked why Teddy left them high and dry in the shootout. Gustavo tells Franklin that Teddy got shot in gunfight and he didn't look too well after that. Gustavo then asked about Peaches, knowing he wasn't driving Franklin that day. Franklin stated once more he was sick. Gustavo found that hard to believe and Franklin suggested finding a phone.

Cissy
[]

Cissy, Veronique, Louie, and Jerome are having lunch outside JP's Kitchen. Cissy and Veronique explained that Franklin couldn't be there because he needed to meet with Teddy. Louie states there was no need to apologize on his behalf nor do they need to have the same conversation twice. Cissy states they aren't there for that nor is she there to convince Louie and Jerome to work with Franklin.

Gustavo
[]

Franklin and Gustavo head across the street near a graffitied storefront in Bell Gardens. They approach a payphone outside a restaurant where Franklin pulls out some change to make a call while Oso keeps a lookout, noticing the graffiti is gang-related. Franklin checks the second payphone while Oso continues to keep an eye out and checks his wound as well. Franklin hangs up and waits.

Jerome
[]

During the lunch, Cissy states the future for them is dim as long as they are in the drug game. She then makes her case to Jerome and Louie that real estate is more than just a path to legitimacy, but a path where they don't need to live in fear any longer or worry if the ground will crumble beneath them and Jerome gets a page from Franklin. Cissy lets them both know they don't need to invest in Franklin, but need to have an endgame and plan it out. Louie then gets a page as well. Cissy then warns them that the empire they helped build with Franklin is going to crumble. Jerome then jumps out of his seat and heads to the nearest payphone only to see some hotshot on the phone talking about something to do with filming. Jerome asked how long he'd be but the caller ignores him.

Leon
[]

Leon is at Deon's convincing the PJ Watts Crips they are well in their constitutional rights to own a gun and Deon isn't convinced. Einstein, whose wrist is in a cast courtesy of the raid, then stated it would be a death sentence for a black man to carry in gun in public. Leon then suggests Einstein should use his mind to find a way to use laws written by white folks to be used as a weapon against white folks which would be strategically advantageous. Deon didn't understand what Leon was meaning. Einstein then defined 'Strategically Advantageous' and Deon silenced him, claiming he knew the definition but not Leon understanding, while Leon's pager is going off. Leon then states Deon is lying but Deon denies it. Leon then tells Deon to spell 'Strategically Advantageous' and Deon ignores Leon while Renny is rolling a joint.

Franklin
[]

As they are waiting for their pages to be answered, Gustavo states they shouldn't be sitting in the open that long. Franklin states they have no choice. They then hear a whistle and see some gang members not far from them.

Jerome
[]

Jerome continues waiting on the guy on the payphone tells him to wrap up the conversation. Instead the caller gives Jerome the middle finger. Jerome then shoves the dude away and disconnects his call. Jerome then calls Franklin's payroll. In the Barrio, Franklin and Gustavo have already caught the attention of some gangbangers and one of Franklin's pages finally goes through. Franklin answers and it's Jerome. He informs his uncle someone tried to drive-by them at the drop. Jerome then asked what happened and while listening to his nephew, a red El Camino rolls by with masked thugs wielding guns. He knew immediately they were being targeted and warned his family to take cover, even Franklin heard it over the phone. Both Jerome and Louie had their guns ready as the drive-by crew began firing their weapons, hitting folks inside and outside the restaurant. Jerome reaches the restaurant and returned fire on the vehicle. Louise returns fire as well. All the while, people are still getting shot up.

Franklin
[]

As Franklin is attempting to reestablish contact with Jerome, gangbangers with bats approach them and the younger thug demands to know what they have in their bags. He demands to know once more and Gustavo gets sny with him, saying it's dirty laundry. As Gustavo and Franklin attempt to walk off, an older thug stops them and requests a peek. He also requests to know why he has blood on him. Clever then makes it clear they aren't fooling around and wants to see what is in the bag. Huero gets a sneak peak and alerts his boys they are carrying cash. Clever pulls out a butterfly knife and Franklin pulls out his gun, even though it's empty. Everyone except for Clever bolts. Franklin then asks the kid if he plans to bolt as well and Clever refuses. Franklin then steps up to him, until Gustavo steps in and warns Franklin of gangbangers behind him strapped with actual heat. Gustavo then tells Franklin they should run. Both of them shove past Clever and bolt towards a neighborhood. Clever then calls his buddies back and chases them down with his crew.

Jerome
[]

In the aftermath of the drive-by at JP's Kitchen, there are people dead inside and out with some wounded. Folks are wondering around and checking on others and woman runs outside to find her husband mortally wounded, possibly dead. Jerome, Louie, and Veronique help up Cissy who is dazed but not hit. Knowing they survived the hit meant for them, they seen there were others who weren't so lucky. Cissy then calls for someone to call an ambulance. Louie then tell everyone they need to get out of there as sirens are being heard. Cissy then demands Jerome to tell them who was shooting at them. Jerome couldn't provide an answer except the fact that someone tried to hit Franklin recently. Cissy is freaking out and Veronique requested for Jerome and Louie to stash their guns in her purse, which they do. After crossing the street, they are quickly spotted by cops in a patrol and are immediately subdued as they are ordered to get their hands up and turn around.

Gustavo
[]

Franklin and Gustavo are now on foot running in a neighborhood with their bags in hand while being pursued by the gang. They head through a back yard via a car port, tossed there bags over a busted picket fence, and break through that fence with the gang on their tails. Franklin and Oso collect their bags and continued to run as they both hop a dumpster to cross over a fence. They then reach an alleyway and searching for a place to hide, Franklin finds a garage bolt locked, but manages to find a crawlspace underneath a house available for them to hide in. They quickly hide in the crawlspace while Clever and his boys are still running and searching. The gangbangers realized they lost them both and Clever chastised his gang for slowing him down. They then split up. Franklin and Gustavo remain hidden knowing they've shaken the tail. Gustavo then asks where his people are at, and Franklin states they got hit too since he heard gunshots during the call. Oso is shocked to learn that and Franklin realized someone is gunning for his family. They both hear a vehicle outside and the guys who were pursuing them. Then they hear the vehicle speed off. Franklin states they need to out of there, and Gustavo states he'll be dead should he leave.

Louie
[]

Back at the restaurant, Jerome is detained as one of the officers demands to know happened there, making assumptions if this shooting was retaliation or if he pissed off the wrong dealer. Jerome makes it clear he didn't know the shooters and was just having lunch with his family. The officer then tells his partner to check the ladies. The officer, whose nametag says 'Jensen', orders Veronique to stand up. Instead, Veronique plays out the terrified civilian who is in horror from the recent event. Jensen then attempts to pull her up to her feet and Cissy demands he back off for Veronique is pregnant. Louie then calls the officer over and feeds him a lie about working as a CI for Detective Beau Buckley and he should be contacted should she need anything. Jensen makes it clear he is not to be lied to. Louie then offered to provide Jensen Buckley's pager number in order to contact him.

She heads inside and demands to know who it is that is bleeding in her home. She then discovers Teddy lying on her kitchen floor in a pool of his blood and acknowledges him as Thomas. Teddy is barely alive and asked how Parissa's been. She notices Teddy is in need of medical care and heads to the phone. Teddy then requests no ambulances and wants less heat on him. She tells Teddy she must examine him as she lifts him off of his back, causing some serious pain for him. Parissa seems to be having some fun as she gets him to lean his back on the bottom cabinets and check the wound underneath his shirt. Parissa then asked where Teddy was, noting he stopped sending her money and disappeared. Teddy states he ran into some trouble. Parissa suggests he is sounding like a criminal, let alone, looks like one as she checks his vital signs. Teddy claimed the shooting happened during an op. Parissa finds that humorous as she checks Teddy dilated pupils in his eyes. She then asks about the op and Teddy requests she let it go. Parissa then states he has a clean exit and the bullet missed his axillary artery, indicating he'll live. She then grabs her keys and Teddy asks where she is off to. Parissa tells Teddy she is heading to the hospital to steal some surgical supplies. Parissa then grabs a box of table salt, throws salt in her hand, and douses Teddy gunshots wound with the salt. Leon didn't appreciate that answer, making it known Renny works for him. Everyone collects their pistols and heads out the front door. They later arrive at Avi's warehouse in Chinatown where Avi and his crew await Leon. They present Leon a case with an RPG inside. Avi then states he attempted to get his hands on some M202 launchers but after the movie Commando premiered, they are not easy to acquire. Leon then tells Avi there's been a change of plans, stating they will no longer need the heavy hardware, but will be in need of a lot of handguns and shotguns, and will need them clean and registered. Avi makes it clear he isn't running a legal transaction, nor do the hardware come with receipts. Immediately, a vehicle speeds towards them and one of Avi's men gets him to run in the warehouse as a drive-by crew begin shooting at the Crips and Avi's boys. They then return fire while Leon and his boys take cover behind some vehicles. They return fire as well. One of Avi's men is killed as Avi pops out with his pistol in hand. Franklin then gave the news to Gustavo that Veronique is pregnant. Oso then congratulates him on the job well done. Franklin then points out it's been quiet for some time and asks if it's a good time to make a move. Gustavo suggested finding an empty house, break in, and use the phone. They see Detective Buckley who is at the scene of the crime and Jerome is not happy to see him after the Projects raid. Louie reminds Jerome that Buckley is the only one that can pull them out of that mess. Beau approaches them and asks who they pissed off that were dumb enough to try and hit them in the public. Jerome states they plan to find out and asked if they are good. Beau suggests a proper thank you and they can move along. Jerome then asks how Buckley would like to be thanked, naming the hospitality he received at the club, the violent raid at the Projects, plus the fact that he openly disrespects Louie every chance he has. Jerome gets irate and suggests thanking him by busting his head open. Louie stops Jerome and Beau claims he's fine, stating if someone was trying to kill him, he wouldn't like it either, but he calls himself the police and wouldn't need to lash out. Louie then suggests they get going in order to pull Jerome out of there. Jerome further runs his mouth as he suggests to Beau he shouldn't hide behind his badge the next time they meet. Beau returns back to the crime scene and Jerome hops into the vehicle with Louie while mouthing off about Beau's constant coke snorting.

She then speaks of her childhood fantasy, about how some guy fell on her after she knocked him out. She speaks of it feeling weird and how she hid it, claiming she never told anyone. She then tells Teddy she doesn't hide anything anymore. She removed her surgical mask as Teddy continued to helplessly stare while doped on whatever medication was pumped into him. Next thing he sees is Parissa masturbating, moaning and looking straight at him.

Franklin
[]

Franklin and Gustavo finally approach a home to break in and Gustavo states there are no bars on the windows or a vehicle, indicating they could use the phone there. Gustavo suggests finding a window and points to one facing the driveway. Franklin slides the window open and jumps in with Oso following. Oso breaks something upon landing inside and Franklin quiets him down. He passed a door to the living room and freaked out to a stuffed bear in the next room, but cooled his head knowing the bear was just an ornament. They look around and see the house is rife with taxidermized decorations, including an alligator. Oso points out the phone and Franklin picks it up, only to find it dead. Next thing that happens, Franklin is hit with a tranquilizer as well as Gustavo and an elderly man approaches. Franklin hits the ground and Oso moves forward with his hands in the air. The older guy shines his flashlight upon him. The sedative kicks in on Gustavo as he falls to the ground. The old home owner approaches Franklin who has pulled the dart out of him. Assuming they were part of some gang, he made it known he would get new security should people keep bothering him. Franklin then asked if he is going to stuff them as well as his animal collection. Parissa then states they are in a neighborhood where a vehicle riddled with bullets won't go unnoticed. Teddy continues to giggled, apparently facing side-effects of the drugs. Parissa exits her home and approaches Teddy's car. She checks both the front seat and back seat for anything Teddy may have inside. She then heads to the trunk and discovers duffel bags full of yeyo as well as the brick he used for snorting and gauzing his wound.

Jerome asked about Einstein and Leon states he is watching the Projects, citing his crew is craving war that very moment. Leon asked about Franklin and Jerome stated he was in Bell Gardens, which was hours prior as Louise stated, indicating he could be anywhere at that point. Cissy then asks who would go and try to kill them like that. Veronique is accusing Teddy by Louise knows Teddy wouldn't send gangbangers to try and kill them. Leon then stated his guys checked the dead and had no ID. Louise then states that whoever tried to kill them was close to the Family and knew where everyone was going to be. Leon then asked about Peaches and Louise stated Peaches called in sick. Jerome refused to believe Peaches betrayed them and asked if anyone heard from Black Diamond and Dallas. Veronique states they had the day off. Jerome suggests he'll haul them to the club. Louise then requests Jerome that he knows Peaches better than anyone there, suggesting he take Renny and check on him as well as letting Leon and Big Deon go see Black Diamond and Dallas. Veronique loses her mind stating she cannot sit around and do nothing and Cissy agrees. Jerome tells them sitting in there is exactly what they need to do, making it clear that Franklin would be pissed if they wondered the streets knowing someone just tried to kill them. He reminds them that Franklin is a survivor and promises to find him.

Franklin
[]

Franklin is still out cold and buzzed from the tranquilizer. He then awakens and finds himself inside a cage in the backyard. Franklin panics and discovers Oso passed out next to him. He frantically wakes Oso up and warns him they are sharing a cage next to a tiger.
