Franklin
[]

From where we last left off in the previous episode, Franklin and Oso awaken to find themselves in a conjoined cage next to a tiger. Franklin hits the cage door and it doesn't budge, then he snaps for the fact that they chose to break into the one home that is owned by a lunatic, his words, consisting of a tiger in the backyard. He tries once more to see if he could kick the cage open and Gustavo tells him to save his strength and Franklin isn't having it. Gustavo states the tiger looks old. That doesn't ease Franklin as he states he doesn't want to die in that cage and he asks Oso the same thing. Oso states that what he personally wants has nothing to do with dying and Franklin receives a page from Louie. Franklin then makes an attempt to scream for help and Gustavo states no one is coming for them, he also points out they're in the Barrio as he uses his belt to obstruct the pulley in the cage. Franklin is curious to know what Gustavo is up to as Old Man James exits his home. Franklin then attempts to explain their situation, instead, the old man ignores Franklin and let's his tiger, whom he called 'Gertie', know that he has a snack for the tiger, referring to Franklin and Oso. Franklin then attempts to bribe James, claiming he has a lot of money he could give to him, but James refused to take Franklin's word as he begins to open the inner gate separating Franklin and Oso from Gertie. He soon realized the pulley was obstructed and wasn't willing to enter the cage giving Franklin and Oso a chance to rush him. James then collects his ladder and ascends the top of the cage. He then attempts to use his arms to pull the pulley wire to open the gate as the tiger kept snarling at the two. Oso then grabs the top of the cage and swing kicks into the gate, causing James to slip his leg into Gertie's side. Gertie then jumps up and gnaws at James' leg to the point where the tiger rips it off, causing James to bleed out and screaming in pain. Franklin then sees the keys James drops near the tiger and attempts to reach them but was unsuccessful. Gustavo removes his belt and tells Franklin he'll lift and he needs to slip under. Franklin suggests the opposite and Oso states he wouldn't fit. Oso then lifts up the cage and Franklin slides in to reach for the cage while Gertie is feasting on James' leg. Franklin then returns back and unlocks his side of the cage. As they exit, Franklin looks back at the dead man and tells him adios. They then exit the property and Gustavo points out they need to get out of that neighborhood. Franklin then suggests jacking a car and soon enough, they had to take cover as they spot a gang vehicle rolling down the street. The coast is clear and Franklin gets another page. Oso assumed it was Teddy, but Franklin states it wasn't and asked if it was possible that he survived. Oso states that Teddy will outlive them both as they hear a car pull up. They see it is their chance to jack a ride out of there and they go for the attempt only to discover it is Clever and his buddies in the car. The gang then pulls their guns on Franklin and Oso and their leader, Tavio, orders Franklin to drop the gun which he does. Tavio then demands to know where the money is at and Franklin lied about being jacked for it, but even Tavio didn't buy that story as his boys pull both Franklin and Gustavo to their trunk which he opened and ordered them inside. Later, they are at a tattoo parlor and the owner, Gladys, gives Tavio the keys, demanding him to lock up and clean up the place after they're done. She then pats Clever on the face, which he didn't like. Tavio then requests Clever to bring him his gloves and he puts them on with Franklin and Oso duct taped to the chairs. Tavio then glares at Gustavo and asks about the money. Gustavo refuses to answer and Tavio swings his backhand at him. Tavio then turned to Franklin and demanded the same thing. Franklin further lied about being jacked and received a punch to the cheek. Tavio realized is was going to be a long night for them.

Leon
[]

At Louie's, Leon and Big Deon are hauling Black Diamond and Dallas inside and both ladies are flipping out to them both, and there is an exchange of words between Deon and Dallas. Jerome and Louie walk into the main floor and Louie isn't happy about the way Leon and Deon are handling it. Leon points out they're still alive and points out Renny telling him that Peaches is still AWOL. Black Diamond is then asking why they are wasting their time with her and Dallas if Peaches may have had a hand in the coordinated. She then suggests sending her and Dallas to find Franklin, but Jerome refuses to let them out of his sights. Dallas claims they wouldn't have offed them in such a matter. Louie realized they're point is valid, and pointed out they didn't disappear like Peaches did. Jerome then suggests they may have had a hand in Peaches disappearance. Deon then points his gun at them and further threatens them. Dallas then slams his trigger hand down and demands never to point that gun at her. Cissy then demands everyone to stop and make finding Franklin their top priority. Leon agrees, knowing there is already someone wanting them dead and they cannot afford to be taking shots at each other. Jerome then suggests he and Leon will roll into Bell Gardens to track down Franklin. Louie then requests them to stay together and page her hourly while Veronique is sitting in there fearing for Franklin's safety.

Franklin
[]

The interrogation continues as Tavio drives his fist into Franklin's ribcage. Franklin is barely able to hold his own and Tavio could see him groggy, claiming he was just getting started. Clever returns with another gang member, Blanco, claiming they have dinner. Franklin asks if they got him food and Tavio drives another fist into his ribs. As Tavio prepares to joins his crew in the back for supper, Oso asks Tavio who is from Durango, pointing out the posters. There is a conversation between the two in Spanish, however it was going nowhere as Tavio states the posters belonged to one of the other workers. He then joins his crew for supper, warning Gustavo and Franklin that the torture is not over yet. As Tavio heads to the other room, Franklin clarified he didn't understand a word of that conversation but knew nothing clicked on the guy. Oso suggested telling them about the money, and Franklin refuses, claiming they'll just kill them anyway. Franklin then tells Oso he was supposed to be at an ultrasound for the unborn child the next day. Oso asked if he has a name in mind. Franklin states they hadn't decided and as he began suggesting an escape plot, Tavio returns asking what they were talking about. Franklin then states he show them where the money is, but on his word that they'll let them go. He then claims the money is hidden where they found them. Franklin states it is in a house, but they don't know the address so they would have to show them the location. Tavio states they'll take Franklin but will leave Gustavo behind as collateral.

Veronique
[]

Back at the nightclub, Black Diamond and Dallas are mocking Renny who has a gun pointed at them and Cissy and Veronique are having a conversation with some cocktails. Veronique then spoke about her mother being a con woman and spoke about their travelling experience together as well as her participation in the jobs. She then spoke about how she spent a few years hiding in Paris. She then spoke fluently in French to Cissy, indicating she can see it well. Veronique then told Cissy she forged documents in English and French during that time. They have a laugh and Cissy realized the mother of her grandchild is not just some normal lawyer. Veronique states she is now and knows nothing of her mother's whereabouts. Cissy asks how it works to get someone's child into such a life, and Veronique states it started when her mother took her to the Del Mar Fair after her father passed away. She states they didn't go on the rides, all they did was scam the carnies, which was the best fun they had since the funeral. Veronique stated it was a feeling they didn't want to leave, indicating it was fun at first but only went downhill. She states she wanted to heal herself of that past but was only seeming to outrun it. Veronique then takes a drink and states that her hand is shaking. Cissy then places her hand on top of Veronique's.

Franklin
[]

Back in Bell Gardens, Franklin, still a hostage, is riding down the street and points them out to Old Man James' house. Tavio then orders Clever to take the wheel and keep the engine on as he and his buddy hop out and Franklin is pulled out of the car. They head through the driveway and Tavio warns Franklin not to try anything. They enter the backyard and Franklin states the money is in the garage. Franklin then sees the cage Gertie was in is now empty and Tavio freaks out to seeing a dismembered James on top of the cage. Tavio then points his gun at Franklin's head and demands to know where the money is. His buddy is then mauled by Gertie and Tavio attempts to shoot the tiger, only to be knocked to the ground by Franklin, who then sweeps up his pistol, pistol whips Tavio, and leaves him to be dinner for the tiger. Franklin then bolts from the backyard and approaches the vehicle when he draws the gun on Clever and orders him out of the vehicle.

Veronique
[]

Louie gives Cissy and Veronique the 411 she received from Jerome about Franklin being alive and stuck in East LA. Cissy sighs in relief. Black Diamond and Dallas then ask if they could leave now that they are in the clear, noting the babysitter they hired is about to leave. Louie tells them to call the sitter to put in some overtime and call up their people to find out who is gunning for them. Louie then checks on Cissy and Veronique then heads upstairs. Cissy then explains to Veronique that she loves her son and how she decided she would do everything she could to protect him. She pointed out how her child nearly died that day and won't be the last time someone will gun for them. Cissy states that is the life Franklin and his crew are in as he gets out of her chair, leaving Veronique to decide for herself what she wants for her and her child.

Franklin
[]

Franklin is waiting in the car near some payphones and Jerome and Leon pull up. They all hop out of the vehicle and Jerome sees the bruises on Franklin, who asked if they got hit as well. Leon states that one of Avi's boys was killed. Franklin then approached the trunk and asked about Peaches as he opened the trunk. Franklin then stares down at Clever, whose mouth and hands are duct taped, and drops the keys on him, telling him he needs to figure his own way out as he closes the trunk. Franklin then hops into Leon's car and they depart.

Gustavo
[]

Oso is still duct taped to a chair with Blanco and Cricket waiting impatiently for Tavio's return. Cricket then demands Oso answer how much money they were carrying. Oso states it was $3 million. Cricket is losing it as he pulls his gun on Oso, demanding he takes them to the bags with the cash, just as Blanco is about to remove the duct tape. They hear a car pull up and Cricket is ecstatic assuming it was Tavio. Cricket opens the door and is immediately gun-butted by Jerome who then on with Leon orders Blanco on the ground at gunpoint. Franklin walks in and Oso chuckles. Franklin then picks up Blanco's knife and removes his bindings, while apologizing for the timing, stating he 'had a conversation with a tiger'. Gustavo realized that was how Franklin escaped. Franklin points out he still had the autograph from the night of the match. Jerome then asked what Franklin wanted done about the gangbangers. Franklin then pulls out a gun and offers it to Oso, who instead decides to leave them and head home. Franklin then tells Blanco and Cricket to consider themselves lucky as they exit.

Franklin
[]

At the house where they hid the cash, Franklin ponders to Oso how he didn't see the 3 coordinated hits coming. Oso states that hide their true selves but will show it eventually. He made it known he didn't expect Franklin to come back for him since he can no longer trust people. Franklin felt the same way, especially from when he and Teddy spied on him. Gustavo is confused and asked what he meant. Franklin stated it was from the first drop when Teddy returned and told him that he returned to that spot to discover evidence of espionage. Franklin soon realized that Gustavo really didn't know anything about it. Jerome and Leon return with the duffel bags of money and Leon places the bags in the trunk. Franklin states he never wants to return to that place again as Jerome and Leon hop back in the car and head down the road. Leon then slams his breaks and they see Gertie with a blood-covered mouth crossing the street. They are now back at Louie's where they receive some medical aid and Gustavo offers Franklin a shot. Franklin passes on the offer and Gustavo hits Franklin's shot of tequila down. Cissy checks Oso's wounds and states he'll need stitches. Louie and Jerome then return and bring Xiamara in pointing her to Gustavo. Xiamara then runs up and hugs Oso and then punches him in the ribs, expressing her worry and anxiety. Gustavo states killing him would not be easy as he held Xiamara and kissed her on the neck. Xiamara then expressed the thought of her being left alone with her nephews wasn't fun for her. Franklin suggests they should head home and get some rest. Oso then wishes Franklin luck with the kid on the way. Franklin then requests Oso to contact him should he hear from Teddy as he and Xiamara leave the club. Franklin then asked if anyone knows where Peaches is and Leon states Renny is staking out his crib in case he shows. Black Diamond and Dallas then suggests putting them back on the streets, suggesting they are useless if they sit there and do nothing. Jerome is refusing to believe that Peaches had a hand in the hits. Franklin then tells Deon to keep an eye on them and states that whoever came at them won't try again for the night. Veronique decides she wants to leave and Franklin offers to have Deon drive her, but Veronique declines, noting that Deon is known to sing louder than the radio. Franklin then requests a page from Veronique after returning home and kisses her goodbye. Franklin then turns to his family and states if Peaches was involved, there is one certain way to find out. He then requests them to roll with him.

Parissa
[]

Parissa is in the kitchen mopping up Teddy's blood while jamming to The Undertows Falling on her cassette player. During that moment, Teddy is experiencing pain as he hollers out in his sleep. Parissa was able to hear Teddy as she put down the mop and cassette player and rushed to the bedroom to see Teddy moaning and mumbling something out. Parissa then pulls out a syringe and tell Teddy she is going to give him a sedative. As she is about to inject the sedative, Teddy in the state he is in, resists her and she holds him down inject the sedative in his left arm. The drug takes immediate effect as Parissa kindly tells him to relax. He is finally calm as Parissa pulls the blanket back on him. Teddy calls her insane as he returns back to sleep and Parissa returns back to her duties.

Jerome
[]

Franklin, Jerome, Louie, and Leon are in Franklin's money room to find the place cleaned out. He pointed out that him and Peaches were the only people who knew about that room. Jerome still refuses to believe Peaches was behind it and Franklin states that nearly $5 million were swiped from that room. Leon then asks where Peaches could be and wonders if he knew anyone else around. Jerome and Franklin couldn't provide an answer. Louie then points out that if Peaches was the culprit, he would skip town and Leon points out he would have had help. Leon then suggested finding the people who tried to hit at them and they could possibly lead them to Peaches. Franklin states that until then, they need to stay cautious as he decides to wrap it up for the night and leaves. Louie and Leon follow in turn. Jerome, however, reels from the betrayal of trust after realizing deep down Peaches is responsible as he exits the room.

Franklin
[]

Franklin returns home and calls out for Veronique, knowing he hasn't been paged or contacted as per his request. He walks toward his bedroom to find it empty. He checks the living room, which is also empty. He then finds a note in the kitchen and picks it up to read it. Upon finishing the letter, he snaps as he swipes the fruit bowl off of the bar in frustration. The next day, he is at Avi's warehouse in Chinatown, stating that Veronique left him. Avi is shocked to learn that Veronique walked out on him and she is pregnant. Franklin points out she is near the end of her first trimester. Avi then points out this is God's gift and challenge as well and Franklin states he wants to keep her and the child protected. Avi then offers to round up some men and possibly a woman for bodyguard duty and states they'll be professionals. Franklin thanks him. Avi then stated one of his men, Azim, was killed the day before in the building they're in. He then points out that Franklin is bringing life into this world. Avi states he never got married nor had a child of his own because he is a soldier who traverses from one battlefield to another. He then points out that he and Franklin are different, pointing out how they first met, believing Franklin could do anything he wants, which he proclaimed was the biggest curse a man could have. Franklin finds that answer puzzling and Avi states he is without a choice but Franklin's choices are limitless and names what Franklin could be. Avi then continues as he speaks of him going from war to war whereas Franklin has the war inside him.

Jerome
[]

Jerome and Louie are waiting in their vehicle in a lot when Jerome speaks of how he found Peaches and is shocked to believe he would betray the Family. Louie then points out even though Jerome recruited him, he was Franklin's guy and he would have been the first to see the betrayal. A black Mercedes pulls up and they exit the car. They begin meeting 2 informants, Alonso and X. Louie then asks if they heard who was responsible for the shootings. X then got sny with Louie who then pointed out it was a big hit with a lot of people involved in it. Alonso then asks about the drop the were promised, pointing out his boss, Trey, wants said information. Jerome tells them they'll get the drop when decides they'll get the drop. Alonso isn't having it and demands Jerome to show some respect and maybe someone won't try to off him again. Jerome immediately knocks Alonso to the ground and started beating on him. X then moved to help his buddy until Louie drew her on him. Jerome continued pounding Alonso until his left fist started to hurt. Jerome is finished as Louie, still with her gun in hand, tells X to collect his man. They hop in the vehicle and Jerome yells to X to teach his buddy how to fight better as he drives off.

Teddy
[]

Teddy is now awake and Parissa is pulling his shirt off, while Teddy is asking her to do it slowly as he is still injured from the drive-by. Teddy states he needed to use her phone and contact his people to find out what the fallout is. Parissa, knowing what she found the night prior, plays dumb with Teddy claiming she doesn't know the whole story while cleaning his wound. Teddy states he was meeting an asset and they were attacked. She then rips the bandage off Teddy's gunshot wound which stung Teddy in pain. She then removed the bloody gauze and Teddy states the shooters weren't aiming for him. Parissa then talked about the article she read a year prior in the Herald Examiner during the time Teddy vanished about a CIA operative who was smuggling cocaine into the States to fund the Contras in Nicaragua. Teddy then stated the story was retracted. He then asked what it is she wanted, and Parissa states that she wanted her 500K. Teddy stated he agreed to 250K and Parissa pointed out the terms changed when she found 300 kilos of yeyo in his car. Teddy then asked her what it was she really wanted. Parissa places a fresh bandage on Teddy's wound, speaking about how she was considering quitting the hospital and speaks of her pet peeves there. She then hops on Teddy and kisses him, telling him she wanted to do that since Tehran but unfortunately, Teddy was already married. She calls the past 2 days with Teddy the most fun she has had in years. She states that could be what she wanted and tells Teddy she'll bring him the phone as she walks off.

Veronique
[]

Veronique is now at the hospital preparing for her ultrasound and the technician tells her may find something on the first sonogram they will be exploring, whether it's twins or if there is a heartbeat or not as she places a towel over her womb. Franklin enters the room as the technician asks him to hit the lights as she douses Veronique's womb with a gel for the ultrasound. The technician then takes the scanner to the womb and shows them on the monitor that they are expecting a child. The technician then checks for a heartbeat and Veronique is anxiously waiting to learn if the baby would make it. Apparently then ultrasound is a success as Veronique has a living breathing child inside her. Franklin is somewhat emotion, knowing Veronique's decision from the prior night. Veronique then requests a moment, giving the technician a chance to shut everything down and exit the room. Franklin expressed his disappointment in Veronique after she left him without saying a word to him. Veronique claimed it would have turned into an argument. She stated that Franklin told her who he was and believed his life wouldn't affect her. Franklin then told her that Avi would be sending her bodyguards the next day. Veronique then asked if they know who tried to hit them. Franklin states no, but assures her they will find the guilty party and take care of them. Veronique then asked what about the next time, or when the CIA is finished with them. Franklin is then wondering why she is asking such questions, and Veronique makes it clear that Franklin can't protect her, meaning she has chosen to distance herself from him until he is free of this life. Franklin is wondering what she meant by distance and Veronique states they'll only see each other at work, but that is it. She then calls back the nurse who returns to the room.

Franklin
[]

At Louie's, Black Diamond and Dallas bring to Franklin's attention of an OG who was released from prison by the name of Kane. Franklin and the other realized it was Kevin's older brother and were in the dark of him being released. Dallas is then asking who Kane is exactly. Later on, Franklin and Leon arrive at a little league football scrimmage and are approached by a couple of Kane's boys. They let Franklin and Leon pass, warning them to behave. Kane is surprised that both of them found him as quickly as they could. Franklin asked how long he's been out and Kane states he was released a few months ago. Franklin then asked why they didn't look him up, and Kane stated he had other business to take care of, his broken family for starters. Leon then asked if he had friends he needed to shoot at, and Kane referred to them as little brothers instead. He pointed to the football scrimmage and stated there was a time when they weren't as big as them and how his mom dragged Leon out of the pool hall by his ear. Franklin corrected Kane, stating it was him, not Leon. Kane realized it made sense as Cissy held more pride in raising her son right. Franklin then pointed out how his guys tried to off her as well, and Kane states he technically didn't shoot at anyone. Franklin then asked about Peaches on whether he came at Kane or vice versa. Instead of providing an answer, Kane spoke of how he taught Franklin and Leon many things, such as how to be men, and claims his teachings were ignored. Franklin claimed otherwise, which was the reason for the conversation instead of retaliating against him and his crew. Kane then spoke how he learned of his cousin, Delroy, being killed while slinging, he was in solitary confinement and he wasn't let out for the funeral. He then spoke about Kevin and stated he skipped the funeral claiming he would have only done something far worse and extended his prison sentence so he abided his time. Franklin states that Kane doesn't know the whole story. Kane is not much for stories as he is wondering whether or not Franklin shot his younger brother. Kane tells Franklin to show him some proper respect and tell him what he's done. Franklin states he was thrown in prison and Kane stated he was curious about that, then asked who he snitched on to get out of the clink. Franklin then told Kane he should have said something to them if he had a problem and Kane guffaws, telling Leon to get Franklin under control. Leon clarifies they only want to make things right and Kane states there are things that can be made right but others that can't. Kane then issues a vague apology for the situation that got out of hand involving the rest of the Family. Kane then warns Franklin that next time he won't make the same mistake. Franklin then gives Kane the heads-up that they could come at him and his crew anytime and anyplace and urges him to do things differently. Kane makes it clear he isn't hiding from anyone. He then suggests Franklin and Leon take off, promising he'll think of Franklin when he toasts on Kevin's grave. Kane resumes back to watching the little league scrimmage and Franklin and Leon depart.
