The Offer is the sixth episode of the the second season of Snowfall. It is the sixteenth episode overall.
Outline
Franklin must deal with his past in order to retrieve stolen merchandise. Teddy and Matt take a trip to Central America. Now in the crosshairs of La Fuerza, Lucia and Gustavo set out to find the one thing that can save them.
Summary[]
Lorena[]
At the DEA safehouse, Lorena is overlooking the case board. She ex's out Stomper, Memo, and Stranger, knowing first hand their fates. Tony enters the room and Lorena explains to her boss that if she stays around for much longer, she'll have to answer questions to the Villanueva's. Tony then drops a bombshell that they are pulling her out. Lorena is in disbelief as Tony stated she killed 2 people, but in her defense, she states she had no choice. Tony then brought up the disposing of the cadaver, and she states that all she did was treat Lucia's gunshot wound. Tony then makes the decision to end the operation and arrest them on site. Lorena then reminds Tony that arresting them now would risk spooking her buyers and suppliers and states they are small fish in a bigger pond. She then tells her boss the real prize is Teddy and Matt, and the Colombians who supply them. She then pleads for 48 hours to dig further into the operations. Tony adheres to her offer.
Teddy[]
Teddy, Matt, and Avi are in Panama for a deal with Loba with his assistant, Camila, pouring wine for the guest. Loba dropped an outrageous price for Teddy and explained that these deal would be in Mexico City where things could prove difficult and states Teddy not just getting product, but the backing and security of the Government of Panama. Teddy then asked what Loba would do to earn his business should there be an ongoing relationship with them. Loba offers a 20% discount and assures them should anything happened to Teddy's plane or shipment, they will cover the losses. They haggle on the discount and agrees to 25% and shake on it.
Franklin[]
Franklin and Kevin have rented an ice cream truck and are using it to carry out some distributions discreetly. Kevin suggested using local businesses like some check-cash places. Franklin then tells Kevin that isn't discreet, but Kevin kept insisting it would relieve some pressure off of the boys. Franklin pointed that such businesses would be demanding a cut for such a risky deal and suggested for Kevin to think of something better. Nia from the Edgewood Shelter approaches the ice cream truck to make an order and Kevin lets her know they're closed. She then makes another order and Franklin reminds her again that they're not open. She even brought up the rock they're preparing to sell, knowing it would be more under the radar using an ice cream truck to sling crack. Franklin denies the accusation and tells her off. She then requested Franklin in name and brings up his father. He hops out of the ice cream truck to confront her and she introduces herself. Nia informs Franklin that the LAPD are pursuing assault charges against Alton despite the fact that they put him in the ER. She then hands Franklin her calling card. Franklin tells her he can't help out, suggested going to Cissy's place or finding him drunk in the gutter. Nia tries to convince Franklin that Alton had been sober since the incident and Franklin refuses to buy the idea that Alton would stick to the sobriety path. Nia then requests that some forms need to be signed in the next 24 hours otherwise Alton will wind up in jail. Franklin, once more, refuses to help Alton out, and tells her to get him a lawyer. Nia then gets frustrated and tells him should he see Alton, he should point him in Nia's direction and leaves.
Lucia[]
Gustavo asks Lucia to go home and get some rest, but she insisted waiting on Gabriella's arrival at first while fidgeting with her gunshot wound. She then explains everything can return to normal once that happens. Gustavo didn't see anything within the warehouse as normal. Lucia then goes on about her father running the warehouse and how exciting it was. She tells Oso he was right to have never let Pedro back in. Gustavo then suggests running and starting over, but Lucia states they would look guilty doing so and doesn't want to spend her days looking over her shoulders. Pedro and Lorena enter the warehouse asking when the next shipment would arrive. Lucia lies stating their suppliers cancelled it and Gabrielle will arrive momentarily. Lucia then requests they leave before she arrives. Pedro insist they would like to help, however, Lorena accepts that they are not needed, take Pedro's hand, and walks out with him.
Teddy[]
Teddy, Avi, and Matt are back at the hotel. Teddy hands Avi and Matt the suite keys as they get on the elevator suggesting he has something important to do and Matt would protect him since Panama City is supposed to be a very dangerous place. Avi flips Teddy off as the elevator goes up. Teddy then heads to the hotel bar where he meets with Elena. Teddy presents to her files of the guns that will arrive to her people as well as a contract and Elena learns she will be on a tight budget. Teddy informs her she will get what she needs from him. Elena grabs a pen to sign the contract and spoke about her burned arm and leg stating the doctors in her country wanted to cut them off. The deed is done and Teddy informs her that Matt will bring the weapons to her once they make the collect. Elena asked about Matt, and Teddy stated he's a good pilot. Elena then brings up Alejandro. Teddy then offers his condolences, not telling her the truth of what really happened in LA.
Lucia[]
La Fuerza arrives at the Packing Plant along with members of the Los Monarcas. Lucia and Gustavo greet Gabriella, Chumacho, and Vuelvas as well as Hernan and Conejo. Lucia asks why they're there and Gabriella claimed to bring them to avoid the confusion when Lucia and Gustavo claimed the shipment was never paid for the merchandise. Hernan tells them Stomper, Memo, and Stranger left their place the night prior with the cash to pay them with and never returned. Gustavo then gave a smartass answer about them heading to Vegas instead. Lucia states bluntly that they held up their end and sold the merchandise and demands their money. Conejo then calls Lucia a liar in close range to her ear, believing they had something to do with their disappearance. Gustavo then shoves Conejo back, prompting some of the Monarcas and the Elias brothers to draw their guns. Gabriella then orders everyone out of the warehouse but her Lucia. As the guys and Gustavo head away, Lucia brings up how Gabriella told her she could keep those guys in line and did a poor job earlier. Gabriella then talks about how she wasn't raised in this life and brings up how she became the boss. Gabriella then shows she saw through Lucia's ruse as she grabbed her shoulder with the shotgun wound and demands to know the truth. Lucia confesses and states they came at them first. The answer didn't fly with Gabriella at that moment and Lucia offers to pay her a quarter million. Gabriella then ups the ante, demanding a quarter for her and a quarter million for each Monarcas members they killed, which would buy her life. Lucia then states killing her would lose the connect. Gabriella then states she can find another connect and the Monarcas are wanting blood. Lucia then offers the recipe for the crack, even though she doesn't personally know the recipe, she even suggested she would make more money if she had people in her organization cooking the crack, but would need a few days. Gabriella agrees but warns Lucia that if she screws her on this, it won't just be her that dies, the entire Villanueva bloodline would diminish and takes off.
Gustavo[]
Gustavo and Lucia are sitting at a table outside the Capitol Burger when Franklin appears, asking what they need from him. Gustavo offers Franklin the name of the man who killed Vic and Delroy, where to find him, and how to kill him, to where no one knows it was him without a possibility of a war and to sweeten the deal with a quarter million in cash in exchange for the crack recipe. Franklin upfront refuses the offer. When Oso tells him to think about it, Franklin states there's nothing to think about. He states he can make as much rock as they need, but won't give up the recipe, and revenge ain't worth giving it up. Franklin then leaves the table, but Gustavo stops him, stating it has nothing to do with greed, but they are in trouble and need his help out of it. He then reminded Franklin who saved his ass in the Barrio and suggested it's time to repay them back. Franklin makes it known he is grateful and won't forget it, but giving away the recipe is something he cannot do and walks back to his vehicle. Lucia then suggested to Gustavo to contact Miguel and see what he can dig up.
Teddy[]
Teddy returns back to his hotel room to discover Avi naked and getting a back massage and a manicure from two half-naked ladies as well as his brother nude and getting a blowjob from one of the ladies. Teddy pulls Matt and aside and his brother follows while covering himself with a towel. Outside the hotel room, Teddy asks with a low tone if they mentioned their names to them or mentioned CIA in there. Matt then pointed out the were in the room when they arrived. Teddy then warned his brother that Loba bugged the room and the blinds were opened, stating they want to make sure they don't take their business elsewhere and have possible photographs. Matt could barely get a grasp on the situation as Teddy stated that they have no friends in Panama. Teddy then leaves Matt to return back to his business and requests he becomes vigilant about what leaves his mouth. They are both seen later at the hotel bar, Matt admits he was an idiot for not realizing what kinds of stakes they were facing when he was in his hotel room with Avi and the ladies while ordering some tequila. Teddy talks about their time in Panama, while his brother is getting a case of Chlamydia whereas he is brokering an arms deal. Teddy then offers him a chance to be officially recruited by the CIA, which Matt refuses, knowing he already has a future plan for skydiving school. Teddy then brings up how their father spoke vaguely about his recruitment into the CIA. Matt then tells Teddy that he is being to hard on their father even though he was tough on them, and pointed out that he at least stuck around. When Teddy stated he wished his father hadn't stuck around, Matt whacked him on the head and demanded him to take it back. Teddy refused and defended his statement, making it known that their father is the reason their mother left. Matt called it a lie and said Teddy romanticized her, which Teddy claimed it was not true. The conversation about Teddy's son, Paul, came up and Matt stated that Teddy knew where he was and how he was. He reminded his brother that their mother walked out on them and never left a note, and Matt never forgave her for it. They received there shots of tequila and raised a toast 'To Mom and Dad, Fuck them both!'.
Jerome[]
Jerome enters the living room with envelops full of bills while Peaches, Leon, and Wanda are watching television. Rob enters Jerome's place asking for Franklin. Jerome tells him if he has the cash for his nephew, he should leave it with them. They see Rob completely unnerved and assume he doesn't trust them. Rob then insists he stick around until Franklin returns still out of his mind. Wanda saw through Rob stating he got jacked. Rob denies and states it's a little more complicated while barely stringing up a sentence. Jerome demands an answer and Rob tells them his father took the drugs. Jerome then demanded he takes it back, however, knowing it was the place Franklin once stayed at where they filmed their pornos, he told Rob he would help him out. Everyone jumps on board with the exception of Wanda doesn't approve of Leon walking into a house with a bunch of white naked ladies. Franklin returns and asks what his crew is planning at the time. Wanda spilled the beans about Rob getting the cocaine taken by his father. Franklin then demands how many kilos, and learns it was 2. Franklin then asked Rob if his father knew that he was fronting it. Rob nodded. Franklin then orders everyone inside the house with the exception of Leon, who Wanda does not want near that place, to head to the vehicles for a drive to the Valley.
Franklin[]
The crew arrive at the Volpe residence with Rob leading them inside. Franklin notices things different in the home and brings up his mother leaving them. Jerome demands to know where is father is and Rob leads them to the back room where they are filming. Jerome gets a little flirty towards one of the porn stars which Rob asks to cut out. They hear his father filming and Rob suggests waiting until they cut. Rob warns Franklin his father won't like this, but Franklin reminds him that his dad has always treated him like family. They hear his father call 'Cut' and enter the room to see that he is filming a gay porno. Jerome loses his cool upon seeing two men in a porn shoot, expecting there to be women. Franklin then cuts to the chase with Jim, who is walking through his home frustrated after recent events. Still reeling from his wife leaving him, he tells Rob and Franklin's boys he needs to continue shooting and demands Franklin's crew to leave. Franklin then brings up how he took something from Rob that belonged to him. Jim then snaps at his son and even gets physical with him until Peaches jumps in Jerome orders all porn stars and crew members out of the house. Jim then blows a lid about how the crew just ruined his entire shoot. He then goes down a list to the guys about how he let Franklin into his home, done a lot for him, fed him, clothed him, etc. Franklin does, however, states his gratitude that Jim and his wife showed him. Jim then brings up raising Rob alone and how much he spent, and asked what he got back in return for being a father. Franklin stops him there and tells him everything he brought up is irrelevant as to why he is there. Jim then told Franklin that Avi was his connect and that Franklin wouldn't be in the cocaine business had it not been for him and requested some gratitude. Franklin then cuts to the chase and demands to know where his coke is at. Jim bluntly stated it was all gone and stated all he wanted was for his generosity to be repaid. Franklin then offers his condolences for the family issues he's dealing with as well as a 50% family discount for all kilo purchases. Jim tells Franklin couldn't be able to buy from him and finally makes it clear that his porn company is about to go under. Rob then asked his father why he never said anything. Jim then goes off at his son about how much he's taken from him and shoves him. Jerome jumps in tells Jim to cool it, reminding him that he stole their merchandise as well as from his son and called Rob over. Jerome then ordered Rob to slap his father. Rob is hesitant about it, but Jerome brings up how he stole his product and forces him to pay him back for raising him as a father should and demands Rob to slap his dad. Rob throws a light smack and Jerome tells Rob he can do a better job than that. Rob throws a harder but still light smack this time and Jerome jumps, shoving Rob back, to show him how a real smack is done as he slaps Jim hard and goes off at him. Rob begs Jerome not to hurt him as Peaches holds him back while Jerome continues to slap Jim around. Rob then offers to cover the loss of the product himself just to get Jerome off his dad. Franklin takes Robs word for it and pulls his crew out of the home.
Lorena[]
Lorena is staking out Teddy's office building while getting a call over her radio, she then returns to her vehicle with Pedro in the driver seat. Pedro asks if everything was calm and if there was any word from Lucia. Lorena tells him to relax. Pedro is getting nervous and Lorena assures him they'll reappear eventually. Pedro then asks why Lucia and Gustavo have not been arrested yet, stating his cousin could be fleeing for Mexico. Lorena makes it known Lucia couldn't run especially with the kind of connections La Fuerza has and states they would find her if she did. Pedro then brings up the charges Lorena already has on her and demands what else she wanted. Lorena then reminded Pedro that he came to the DEA and they would help if he did what was asked of him. She then points out Lucia will go down and requests Pedro to get on the same with her.
Alton[]
Alton is taking a job at Cho's grocery store as a clerk. He is loading up the beer in the freezer as he hears Franklin enter the store with Nia being greeted by Mike Cho, the store owner. Alton approaches them and Franklin informs him they have paperwork for him. Alton asked how they found him. Nia points out that Franklin was able to get answers from around the hood and places the paperwork on the front desk. Alton begins reading through the paperwork while Franklin is touring the store with Cho. He signs the paperwork and thanks Nia. Nia then takes off and Franklin as well, telling his father not to leave Cissy out to dry.
Franklin[]
After leaving Cho's, Nia wonders why Franklin changed his mind about helping Alton but shows Franklin her gratitude. Franklin then hands Nia a business of a lawyer he is hiring for Alton. Franklin then asked if she is known to go after cases like this from time to time, and Nia states Alton held a special place in her heart. She also told Franklin her father was a Black Panther. Franklin found that interesting and asked where her father was. Nia told her he was killed during a robbery when she was young. Then they started talking about where she was from and where she got her education and starting hitting it up with a nice chat. Franklin then asked her out to dinner. Nia turned him down, stating he knows his business and what he wants but never wants to go down that road again and takes off.
Teddy[]
Teddy and Matt are back in LA and when Teddy passed the office, Matt alerted him, but Teddy tells him not to look in that direction. He then asks Matt if he's absolute about not telling the people at the hotel who they are. Matt states he's completely certain and demands to know why he wants to know. Teddy informs his brother that someone is watching the office building. They pick up a tail who happen to be Lorena and Pedro. Teddy then hands Matt a gun for any action while still being tailed by a blue caprice. Teddy studies manner in which he is being tailed and suggested it would be the feds. Teddy then asks Matt to read the plates of their pursuer while he pulls in closer. Matt manages to write down the plate number and spot 2 occupants inside the car. Teddy then makes a maneuver to lose the tail, nearly causing a car pile up and leaving Lorena and Pedro high and dry.
Kevin[]
Kevin arrives at home to bring his family some fast food and hands his sister a wad of cash for some diapers for his baby niece and hears a knock at the door. He answers and it's Lucia and Gustavo. Kevin reaches for his gun and Lucia calms the tension. They tell Kevin they came to discuss business and he walks outside with them. Kevin then chastises them for appearing in his neighborhood at night like that. Lucia and Gustavo then inform Kevin that they know who killed Vic and Delroy and offer him a shot at revenge in exchange for the crack recipe. Kevin is hesitant about giving away the recipe but Lucia states the recipe will be released sooner or later, whether he gives it up or not. Kevin, wanting blood, doesn't see that as a fair. Lucia then ups the ante, from supplying him with pure cocaine that is fresh off the boat, and keeping his family well taken care of. Lucia then hands Kevin the numbers to her pager and office phone and leaves with Oso.
