The World is Yours is the seventh episode of the the second season of Snowfall. It is the seventeenth episode overall.
Outline
Franklin attempts to reinforce that business comes first when an employee steps out of line. Teddy and Matt run into some unexpected company when trying to get their business back on track. Lucia and Gustavo make an offer.
Summary[]
Franklin[]
Franklin, Leon, and Kevin are at the movie theatre watching 'Scarface'. Franklin picks up a few ideas from the film and states to his boys that this is what he needed was some rules in the game. They constantly talk about the film as well as business while some people are telling them to shut up. They exit the theatre after the film still talking about the film and the locations in it and pass up a homeless woman calling Ronald Reagan a liar. Franklin then asks for the keys to the car and tells the guys he wants to show them something. They arrive at the beach and exit the car overlooking the ocean from the parking lot. They begin walking onto the west coast shoreline where Leon messes with the sand. Franklin then gets to the point as to why he both Kevin and Leon out there. He tells them he plans to put them in charge once they start to expand their business and intends to build an empire. The trio then start playing around on the beach in the sand and the water.
Teddy[]
Teddy returns back to the safehouse where Matt is in the kitchen and a dog runs up to him. Matt tells his brother that since they were being hunted they should adopt. He then asks Teddy if he ever found out who was after them. Teddy states it was the DEA, and stated his LAPD contact traced the plate and learned the DEA was following them. Matt asks what they are going to do about it. Teddy then stated that the DEA insisted the LAPD back off of them, meaning the Villanueva's have an undercover DEA agent inside their organization. He then asks Matt to trust him and states he will take care of it.
Claudia[]
At the nightclub, Claudia is reading the newspaper while Louie is restocking the bar. There's a knock at the door, which Louie answers. Claudia hears a small commotion and exits the office to find a transvestite walking in with her security carrying a bunch of decorations. Louie informs Claudia they will be throwing a party of sorts in the bar. Claudia doesn't take Louie seriously and states she will be handling some business to keep the nightclub open. Claudia then brings up the earrings she gave Louie, how the diamonds were real while the backs were fake.
Tony[]
At the DEA safehouse, Agent Marino gets a call which doesn't fly well with him and acquires a number from over the phone. After the call, Tony orders one of his agents to play the recorder as he makes the call. Teddy answers from a payphone and Tony states he given that number to contact him on. Teddy asked if he was the agent undergoing the Villanueva case and advised them to pull their operations and walk away. Tony then tries to stall and ask if they could discuss this face to face. Teddy gives Tony a final warning and makes it clear something could happen to their inside agent should they refuse and hangs.
Franklin[]
After the phone call, Teddy and Franklin meet. Teddy informs Franklin that they will have to put their business on hold for a while, indicating the plane needs maintenance and repairs, which was only a half-truth. Franklin then brings up expanding his business beyond South Central LA. Teddy seemed intrigued. Franklin then brought up McDonalds, the fast food chain, he spoke about how two brothers discovered how to mass produce burgers and that someone came along, and stole their idea and name to franchise the burger chain. Franklin states it is a metaphor of his story, that he didn't invent crack, but intends to build an empire on it and names various cities from all over the country, send trusted men to every city and set up cook houses there, and get roughly up to 50 to 100 kilos a week. Teddy seems a little unsure about and asks Franklin if he had given it some thought. Franklin makes it known he had been thinking on it his whole life.
Lucia[]
Lucia is in the middle of getting her wound redressed by Gustavo and feels intense pain after Oso removes the old bandage. Gustavo then doused a cloth with tequila and Lucia takes a shot of the same tequila. Oso applies the cloth on the would, still stinging Lucia. She then gets a page from Pedro which she ignores. Gustavo reminds her that he isn't gonna stop and suggested contacting Kevin. He also brought up the idea of convincing Gabriela to off Pedro and Lorena. Lucia then reminded Oso that they don't if Pedro is a rat or just being led on. She then stares at the wrestling ring she got Oso, knowing he never truly got to use it. Oso then suggested in his own sense of humor going a few rounds. They have a small laugh while she is getting her wound treated. The phone rings and Lucia answers.
Kevin[]
Kevin is on the phone with Lucia, reminding her to stop paging him. Lucia then states that the window to avenge Vic and Delroy is closing and wants the crack recipe by the next morning. The conversation ends and Kevin, still wondering where his loyalties lie, exits the house where Leon is eating Funyuns and talking, Jerome is lifting weights, and Franklin is enjoying himself watching his uncle build muscle.
Lorena[]
Lorena is back at the DEA safehouse with Tony, who states someone knows about an undercover agent in the Villanueva. Lorena states she would have been dead have they found her out already, and Tony believes they may be on to her and are ducking her so she could get pulled from the job by the DEA or risked getting whacked by a Sicario. Lorena then suspects the suppliers, knowing during the pursuit, they were made and the plates were pinged. Tony tells her the LAPD pinged the plates. Lorena then points out that these people have dirty cops on their payroll. Tony makes it clear that this investigation has him spooked and lets Lorena know the 48 hours grace period she received has expired. Lorena is begging for more time, hoping to bring more than just the Villanueva's down. Tony lays his foot down and tell her it's done, that they are apprehending the Villanueva's by days end and get the suppliers another time. Despair hits Lorena after Tony makes his final decision. Tony, of course, applauds her for bringing them the charges they needed to take down the Villanueva's.
Alton[]
Alton returns back to the Cissy's house cleaned up and shaven, even Cissy began to take notice. Alton then laid down an envelop from the VA on her table. He tells his wife that his benefits finally came in and offered it to her to help pay her late bills off. Cissy accepts the envelop and thanks Alton, who is turn, requests a dance as the music in the house plays.
Kevin[]
Franklin and Kevin arrive at Wanda's place where a party is being held and are greeted by Leon. He then noticed during the tour of the party that Wanda is selling his merchandise to a relative and confronts her about it. Leon does come to Wanda's offense. Wanda gets smart with Franklin, stating she cooked it, it's hers to do with as she please. Franklin did not appreciate her tone and sensed she may have had more that a sample of the product. Wanda's walks out running her mouth demanding Franklin out of her home. Franklin then tells Leon he wants her out of the cook house and away from the business. As Franklin walks out, Kevin calls for him and follows him outside after overseeing everything. He gets on to Franklin about blowing up on a female in public. Franklin then states there has to be some order in this business cause apparently his organization felt more like a daycare center. As he walks away from the home, Kevin tells her he should make things right with Leon and Wanda, which Franklin ignores. Now frustrated, Kevin returns to the party.
Louie[]
It's gay night at Claudia's club and the transvestites are running a runway show hosted by Laurent de Laurent, who introduced Louise as the person who made their night possibly. Louie seems to be enjoying herself as she dances on the runway with Claudia watching from the seats. Laurent then introduces the main attraction, Viola Pendarvis, and takes a seat with Louie and Claudia. Though Louie and Laurent seem to have a good time, Claudia pretty much ruins it for them and speaks vaguely about Louie, bringing up much of the past and insulting her in the process. Louie is offended at that point and makes it known. Claudia then reminded Louie it was her that turned Louie into the woman she is today. Laurent senses some hostility and walks away. Louie, at that point, has gone from enjoying herself to being downright infuriated.
Teddy[]
Teddy returns back to the house to inform Matt that the phone call didn't scare off the DEA nor did it shake them away from the office so now he makes a decision to find a different tag while entering the bathroom to take a piss. Matt then informed his brother that Avi called their house. Teddy is curious as to how Avi got their house number. Matt then states that Avi was threatening him, telling him they had the guns but demanded the money. This becomes a predicament when Teddy points out most of the money is at the office. Matt pointed out that Avi isn't messing around. Teddy makes it clear he knows that and closes the bathroom door.
Louie[]
The party is over and Louie is very unhappy with Claudia after being humiliated in front of Laurent during the show and snaps at Claudia, who appears to care less, over it. Louie expresses how she didn't appreciate how she spoke of her past as if she was still hustling for her. Claudia continues to show no interest and makes it known she knows about Louise's ambitions to take. Louie denies and claims if she wanted the club, it would have already been hers. Claudia then speaks about her deal with Franklin and continues to get under Louie's skin. Apparently while Claudia is having fun, Louie is getting further agitated and claims that Claudia is afraid she'll just walk out on her, which Claudia takes to offense claiming to act real. As Louie attempts to walk away, Claudia grabs her wrist, stating she would be nothing without her, how Louie is a joke, and won't have her buttons pushed by some lady she paid for. Louie shoves Claudia onto her couch and loses it to her as she prepares to walk off. Claudia then jumps off the couch and grabs Louie by the back of her hair. This leads to a struggle which turns into a wrestling match on the floor. Louie attempts to get away, even with kicking at Claudia, who still has her in her grasp. As they're back in their feet, Claudia has her hand around Louie's throat on the bar, and Louie is able to grab a bottle of whiskey and breaks it over Claudia's head. Louie finally gets the upper hand as she attempts to shove Claudia off of her, but shoves her hard enough to slam her head onto the bar. Claudia then lands on the floor completely unconscious. A terrified Louie then calls Jerome and requests him urgently to show up at the club.
Kevin[]
Kevin is outside the Villanueva warehouse attempting to light up a cigarette, then enters the warehouse greeted by Lucia and Gustavo, who claimed they about gave up on them. Kevin then pointed out that betraying Franklin isn't that quick of a decision. Kevin then asks how he ain't gonna point him to the wrong guy, and possibly one of their enemies. Lucia tells Kevin that his cousin was one of her dealers and she bought the rock from him. She makes it known that the man who killed Vic and Delroy will cause more problems for all of them. Lucia gives Kevin the enemy of my enemy speech and points out how upset he was at the park. When Lucia told Kevin how Franklin didn't press her for more answers, Kevin claims she's a liar who did nothing and knew nothing and prepares to walk away. Oso and Lucia made it known that Franklin requested they find out who did it before meeting them at the park. Kevin stops moving. Lucia makes it known she knew who murdered Vic and Delroy and refused to provide a name. Kevin can barely contain the truth. Oso then offers to take Kevin to the killer immediately otherwise there is no deal.
Franklin[]
Franklin is at Jerome's house just staring out the front window and Jerome enters the living room stating Louise is now sleeping. Franklin asks why didn't head to the hospital and states that Claudia is not a good enemy to have, citing how she knows everything about and has cops on the take. Jerome then tells Franklin he plans to find them a stash house and get anything that could put them away out of their home. Franklin then pondered a question to his uncle, that Louise having him take care of a problem for her, if she is back or not. Jerome couldn't answer that. Franklin tells his uncle to get some rest and leaves.
Teddy[]
Teddy and Matt arrive at their hangar with their dog in the backseat to see Diego and Danilo partying and drinking tequila with their ladies. Teddy asks what they were doing there. Diego tells them they cancelled the pickup, never got a callback, and don't know where they live. Danilo then tells Teddy and Matt they have the tail number for the plane. The Colombian boys then suspect that Teddy and Matt are flying the coop on them. Teddy then states they are taking a flight to get the business back on track and suggested finding a hotel to hang around for a couple of days. The Colombians demand to know the issue. Teddy makes it known they have heat on them. Danilo suggested taking care of their cop problem, but Matt states they need a few days to work things out. The Colombians agree to let Teddy off the hook but takes Matt as a hostage, and tell Teddy that Matt will remain under their thumb until they are ready to resume their pickups. The guards then grab Matt and take him to the car with the dog barking at them. Teddy then makes it clear to Diego not to hurt him, and Danilo states they shouldn't be messed around. The Colombians bid Teddy adieu and hop in their vehicles to leave the hangar.
Cissy[]
Cissy enters her home frustrated as she walks to the kitchen and Alton asks what's on her mind. Cissy has a tantrum about what happened at the bank. Alton asks if they are short on the payments. Cissy then continues to lose it and informs her husband that someone named 'Jason Peters', Franklin's alias, has paid off their entire mortgage. While Cissy knows it was Franklin and is very unhappy about it, Alton states that Franklin did it and did it smart. Cissy strongly disagreed with her husband on that statement, stating it wasn't right and not how she wanted to own her home. She then blatantly hands Alton back his VA benefits and walks off.
Kevin[]
Kevin is with Lucia and Oso at Acuña Park and shows him Conejo with his daughter and the social worker. Gustavo tells Kevin when he is at the park and what days are good to hit him on and the time table. Kevin agrees with the timeframe and states it's time to cook some rock. Back at the warehouse, Kevin fulfills his end of the bargain and teaches the Villanueva's how to cook the crack.
Franklin[]
Leon snaps at Franklin outside Jerome's place about the way he treated Wanda at her home in front of her family. Franklin then pointed out how she stole his product to sell to her family members. Leon defends her, stating she was making him more money. Franklin refused to buy that as he was cleaning his shoes. Leon walks and Franklin makes it clear that if it were anyone else stealing from him, there wouldn't be a conversation and tells him to focus on the business. Leon is offended for Wanda and reproaches Franklin and claims he's getting to worried about the wrong thing. Franklin then tells Leon that he's not worried enough about the business, citing that as an issue. Leon then takes a seat on the railing.
Lorena[]
Pedro and Lorena are back at the packing plant awaiting Lucia and Gustavo. Lorena prepares to exit with her gun in hand and Pedro holds her up stating he thought she was going to arrest them. Lorena then pointed out that not everyone goes down without a fight. Lucia then enters while Gustavo is outside, and tells both Lorena and Pedro that the drop is back on schedule and also points out they now have the recipe for crack which they can provide for La Fuerza. Lucia then asks Pedro to accompany her to Gabriella's while 'Soledad' sticks with Gustavo to receive the shipment. Lorena then suggested she and Pedro receive the shipment, feeling a bit uneasy leaving her informant in harms way. Lucia then states the Gabriella doesn't want non-family members involved and Gustavo is yet to be family. Pedro agrees to go along and Lorena tells Pedro to be careful as she kisses him good-bye. She then notices Lucia and Oso bidding farewell in the same manner, believing something is afoot.
Lucia[]
Lucia and Pedro arrive at a vacant place in an alleyway near an abandoned building. Lucia then asks Pedro to take the point on this. Pedro then approaches the door and Lucia pulls her gun out. Pedro then attempts to open the locked door only to find Lucia pointing a gun at him, telling him to turn back around, keep his hands in the air, and not reach for his gun in which he complies. Lucia approaches him, with the gun in hand, and removes his pistol. She then backs up and Pedro turns around demanding to know what the issue is. Lucia makes it known that his fiancé is a cop or a federal agent, but definitely law enforcement. Pedro denies it. Lucia then asks Pedro where his loyalties lie, demands to know how they truly met, and to make her a believer. Pedro finally makes it known that Lorena is a DEA agent from Dallas and he turned himself over to agency there, stating he wanted to bring down the entire Cartel. He then made it clear it was his payback for killing his father. Lucia goes off at him, how he became a rat for the feds after everything she did for him. Pedro then states that she is disease that destroys everything she touches and brings up her dead sister in the process. Infuriated by that remark, Lucia fires a bullet into Pedro's chest. He slides down the door toward the ground and asks Lucia if he struck a nerve. Lucia tells Pedro that he's going to Hell for everything he did. Pedro then states she will and hear his voice everyday, knowing she became the monster Mauricio feared she would become. Lucia then finishes Pedro off, then drops the gun, squats down, and starts weeping and screaming, knowing she just killed her cousin.
